Nowadays, there are so many major comic conventions and every good-sized city has mini-cons as often as every month, but in 1963 that was not true. To put this in perspective, here is a report that Jerry Bails did in the pages of THE COMIC READER #17 (May 17, 1963). He took his wife and daughter on a road trip to visit with and get a look at the collections of "Grass" Green, Ed Lahmann, Ronn Foss, "Biljo" White and Vernal Coriell. An interesting look at the very early days of comic fandom!
