What's the crack with this? (shrug)

Hulk #214 9.8 $3220

The craic is:

"First" Jack of Hearts in a comic-sized comic...I thought that was just true, but this site references Hulk 213 as well. I only have the 35 cent variants of this issue, but it always had a bump for this. Similar to 212 with Constrictor, even though that is a straight-up first appearance.

Looking at recent sales, I think the market has been doing some correcting with regard to the Hulk 180/181 debate. 180's on ebay have been selling for a very large percentage of 181's.

For fun, this made me think about Overstreet's top 25 bronze age comic list. This list came most recently came out last summer sometime, I believe, but the prices remind you of looking in a 90's Wizard. Who wouldn't pay this for most of these books (all prices NM-)?

Star Wars 1 35 cent variant $12000

Incredible Hulk 181 $5500

Iron Fist 14 35 cent variant $4400

House of Secrets 92 $3350

Cerebus 1 $3200

Scooby Doo 1 (1970) $3000

Marvel Spotlight 5 $2800

Green Lantern 76 $2700

Giant Size X-Men 1 $2300

Werewolf by Night 32 $2000

Amazing Spider-Man 129 $1900

Star Wars 2,3,4 35 cent variants $1800

Iron Man 55 $1600

X-Men 94 $1425

DC 100 Page Spectacular 5 $1375

Hero For Hire 1 $1375

Amazing Spider-Man 101 $1200

Tomb of Dracula 10 $1200

Batman 227 $1100

Batman 251 $1000

Incredible Hulk 180 $1000

Uncle Scrooge 179 $950

Batman 232 $ 900

Now to put this in perspective, today this would buy you:

Hulk 180: 5.0

Tomb of Dracula 10: 6.0?

Hulk 181: 5.5

Werewolf by Night 32: 6-6.5

Cerebus 1: 6.0?

Giant-Size X-Men 1: 3.0

X-Men 94: 7.0?

That's a 9.2 from September 15, 2020. Now obviously Overstreet doesn't always have its finger on the pulse of current market but...wow...6 and a half months later and that money doesn't get you very high grade anymore...

I follow the Cerebus 1 market closely since it's so rare and the last few sales were not recorded on GPA (on comic link and a private sale taken off ebay)  but the book nearing $1,000 a point.  All the copies were wiped off the market early this year, so its incredibly difficult to find now.  A counterfeit copy sold for $ 900.     9.4 sold for $29,800.  8.0 sold for $7500.    So $3200 would probably get you a 3.0 copy now.  Whoever lists their next copy will probably push the market even higher.

X-men 94 is getting hotter for sure but I also think that price was affected by the possibility to pump up the grade. That book is not pressed or cleaned.

I think there was also 5% ebucks on top of that if it ended before 3/31
