Oh - I see.  He sold a 346 and 347 Newsstand for a nice hefty premium.  He said he didn't get many 9.8s that go around so good for him.

Do you think it's due to movie heat or just the character's general popularity?

I collect Venom OA and feel the premium's been rising noticeably the past couple years.

Elfquest books are selling pretty well. Elfquest #1 1st print are $50-75 (They were anywhere between $5-15) up until recently. Fantasy Quarterly #1 9.8 recently sold for 685.55 which is an all time high

Interesting... I wonder if people don't know that Elfquest #2 came out before Elfquest #1.

This person certainly did not...…………….

So they made #2 after the Fantasy Quarterly and then reprinted the FQ story as #1. Got it.

Aw, don't let the cat out of the bag! I've been trying to buy a cheap copy of Elfquest #2 with the $1.00 cover price. I ordered one from mycomicshop a while back and they sent a third printing ($1.50 cover). They just listed another copy, which I also just bought, hoping this time I actually receive a first printing.

I don't think there are actual #2 first prints ($1.00 cover) available online very often. MyComicShop and maybe MileHigh appear to have them "in stock" but both are usually 2nd and 3rd prints listed as 1st.

I agree, I have been checking eBay for quite a while for copies of Elfquest #2 with the $1.00 cover, and they are very seldom seen. Plenty of $1.50 cover price ones, though.

Several of the recent sales also say "1st print" but if you zoom in, they were $1.50 covers.  This is probably similar to the time when TMNT #1 wasn't well known for the differences between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prints.

Found this Elfquest #1 from mycomicshop, wonder if it turned out to be a 1st print.

The first print of #1 does appear to be a tough one, I never really looked for one as I knew it was a reprint of FQ #1. mycomicshop certainly prices #1 much higher than #2.

I was actually shocked that the seller pitted me against a different buyer for that listing I just mentioned. I was positive he would take the offer for 40$ and was laughing my off when he said he has another buyer interested in the set and shot me an offer for $80. I told him thanks but no thanks. The next thing I knew it was sold for 75 within minutes after we last spoke
