I don't know what to make of that, first black suit in title? I don't know what to think about that...

Any spiderbook with the first black costume of that title sells well in high grade. Every title pretty much.

I think this being worth so.ething is new. I buy the black cat stuff anyway, but now I am annoyed. I just went through 5 spider boxes pulling asm 212s...

This book has held value for a while. I remember Divad posted a sale a while back and included the black suit in the listing and it caused a stir on here.

Divad sales are usually outliers. No doubt someone looking for a 9.8 raw or otherwise will shell out, but now there is $ in less than perfect stuff.

Why doesn't this book do better? Sure, regular copies sell for a more than other Caps of the Zeck era and they do sell, but this is one of the best/most iconic covers of the 80s, shouldn't it get more love? i feel like this was a $20 book back in the early 90s when Deathlok got hot (or maybe I am confusing wall/sticker prices with actual sales)

Yes, because he lied and said it was the first appearance of the black suit, IIRC.

I dont ever remember it being a particularly valuable or sought after book, but I agree, it has an iconic cover.  There's just a ton of them out there and not many people looking for it I guess.

I actually was putting offers on graded copies of it not that long ago.

I remember it being on a comic shop wall for $20, but who knows, the early 90s were wacky.

as for being sought after...I had always been abe to sell it for 2X guide or so, as guide was just a few bucks. which, for a 1980s non-key, was pretty good. but i probably have not tried to sell one for 2-3 years. people buy it as evidenced by completed sales and it is better than a $2 book. i just figured in this era of hysteria where so many books are $15-20, regardless of having healthy print-runs, that it would have crept up there. I will keep on buying it when I see it, but I am just surprised slabbed SS books do not do better and that nice raw copies are not consistently double digits, but I guess nobody cares about appearances, but they do care about iconic covers?

Too bad I didn't see that. That's a steal of a price.

Deathlok appearances were hot for about 20 minutes in 1991, when Deathlok got his own series.

That is a favorite cover of many. The Orange one is also Purdy. With that said, I guess there are plenty to go around and marvel has done little to jazz up The character. His blip in agents of shield was mehhh unless he came back later after I stopped watching.
