......curmudgeonly cranky just adds it's own aura of intrigue with us old farts.....like the song says, " Hold your head up...." :headbang: GOD BLESS...

The last few years have re-taught me two words in a whole new light:

1) patience

2) humble

Thought I knew what they meant till one lives events outside of one's control. Once this ordeal goes in to the rear view mirror, the concept of "inner-strength" has been taking on a whole new meaning as well - best, Bob

Hello Robert,

I just discovered this thread and was busy selling some of my books

tonight. I've purchased a couple of great books from Robert and when

I have time tomorrow I will check out your site and should be able to

make a purchase or two. I should have some paypal funds coming in

tomorrow or maybe the day after.

Most of all my thoughts and prayers go out to your Daughter and to you

and I pray for a speedy recovery.

All the best wishes,

fay

Hi Fay

Katy is asleep now, gives me time to work on fulfilling order requests as well as ebay store stuff plus a bit of Face Book banter. Dealing eBay in to 36 countries means virtually every time zone around the world.

Thanks for the kind words. Katy surely needs every ones help right about now. She came back to her aprtment from hospital which translates Medicaid is no longer covering a lot of stuff which haas now fell in to my responsibility. Am doing the best I can and I thank every one who has bought some books for her recovery to proceed as smooth as is possible under the circumstances she is dealing with.

Thank you so much, Conan. Truly appreciated. Katy has such a long road to hoe coming back in to the light. We came close to losing her those first few days of daze right before Christmas (which is where we spent that birth day) - I can't even begin to describe the pain she was in. That was a month ago now, we are up to today.

My main present concern right now is she could relapse in to another eruption which has already happened once a week or so back. My main job is to keep her life as stress free not worrying about anything excpt healing.

Again, from the bottom of my heart, thank you, comics community. I will never forget this from you guys.

I wish to again thank every one who has reached out for Katy to date as she deals with this devastating syndrome coined by Doctors Steven & Johnson which has just very recently attacked her life we are actively avidly seeking to heal her and recover from.

There is so much I yet need to acquire. Am not asking for myself, but for her.

Not for charity, but if you see something here http://stores.ebay.com/BLBcomics which strikes your fancy in my eBay store, please make a purchase. What has transpired to date we are very grateful for, from bottom of heart, and there are issues to be covered yet I could go in to details on, but would rather not at this stage if at all possible.

Not trying to look a gift horse in the mouth, but there is a few thousand more dollars yet need to be raised shortly. Those who have come forward have enabled me to place decent band-aides on this situation.

According to the CGC thread stats some 1400+ persons have now looked at this thread in the last day or so since it went up. If ten percent of you saw just a book or two you needed, that would go a long ways towards my being able to maintain a solid foundation as I waited until the proverbial back was against the wall. I am beyond grateful what has transpired to date, please do not get me wrong on that note. I should have come here last week, was thinking about it, but was too wrapped up in making sure she was/is OK coming out of the hospital back to her own place to think straight.

Anyway, thanks for reading this thread if you got this far. Please place her in your prayers if you are into that sort of thing. http://stores.ebay.com/BLBcomics

Let’s bump this, since it has been moved in the appropriate section and may go unnoticed… ;)

Bob, you may also consider to prepare a selection of books to put on sale in the board sales section. I know it would be time-consuming, but I am sure they would get more response, as people come here in the eBay section less frequently.

BTW, please email or PM me the details for the payment, so we may go ahead with my order. (thumbs u

Hello guys, just getting back to internet. Katy was admitted back in to ICU at 1:30 this morning - this Stevens Johnson Syndrome has flared back on her now a third time.

Thanks for bumping this back up as I was otherwise distracted for a spell today

I am going to pick up on the suggestion made of making a KATY'S COMICS thread as i do have most of the scans made I could make up more descriptions of the way the folks who run this stuff want it

I do thank them for allowing my mis-posting to live where it did for as long as it did - some 1600+ at least looked - and about 20 of you guys felt moved enough to purchase some comics.

I posted re looking at stuff in the eBay store http://stores.ebay.com/BLBcomics as grief over comes one slowing down to look for what i discovered later as clearly posted rules & regs. Am not seeking special treatment, on other hand am asking humbly for some of you to maybe help me help Katy come thru this

I need to raise a few thousand more in the next few days as I truly have to purchase a nurse person who will come thru her apartment every day once she gets out of the hospital again - this is a night mare for me much less her, I can only imagine what Katy is going thru - the pain is enough for IV drip

thanks for reading - please pray for my daughter

best

Robert,

I suspected you were driven away by unexpected complications. Please don’t worry, let‘s keep this going.

If you find the time, just prepare a selection of the more appealing books (high grade is very appreciated in the sales thread, for what I get, but also low grade bargains on the 1940s and 1950s books), and then it will be no crime to put also a link posting to the eBay listings discussion (i.e. this one lol ).

Prayers are guaranteed, once again let Kate know we are close to her.

God bless, :foryou:

Claudio

Just a gentle correction to those figures -- the hit counter tracks single views, not individuals -- so probably more like 100 or so people (counting lurkers/non-posters) have rechecked the thread each time there've been updates.

If you do have enough time to run a sales thread here -- and we'd certainly understand if you didn't -- you could potentially save on the ebay fees, and I'm sure more stuff would sell.

Very best wishes Robert, we are pulling for your daughter. :wishluck:

Agreed! There a lot of buyers here and i would say quite a few who don't do ebay/ Even if you just do a few listings a day it could boost your traffic on ebay as well and there are no ebay selling fees.

I have prayed for your daughter. I hope she feels better today. -Dave

Definitely post a for sale thread of non eBay books, I'm sure you will get responses.

I KNOW it's work, but you could just copy the text from some of your eBay listings and take them down from your store temporarily, and then just repost them once your sale here is done. Might make it easier for people to see...and you have SO many books on eBay, if you just list a few here (50-100 to start) , you may have many takers The boarders here tend to be very kind.

Best wishes for your daughter's recovery... :wishluck:

As I suspected, Bob has been absorbed & worried by the relapse of her daughter which is once again at the hospital.

I have posted a message in the other thread repeating our suggestion and suggesting also to consolidate the threads and keep this one alive, to avoid dispersion.

Thanks to all the kind people around here, I’m proud of the friendship I have with some of you. ;)

Hello once again,

Was at the hospital again thsi morning, and am now in my warehouse until early Monday morning working on catching up the orders kind folks have already placed last few days. Some one is spelling me today so i can work.

I figured out it ahd been over three years since i was last on these CGC boards, absorbed as I have been with katy's two brain moving craniotomies initially done to seal a hole in her skull where ear attaches (long story), then a series of ensuing complications of which this Stevens Johnson Syndrome is only the latest of quite a few hurdles to over come.

This latest thing has been very scary, though "glad" if all this has had to happen, at least it came on the heels of recovery and healing from my own dual hip joint replacement surgeries which saw both replaced on the same day. Has been a long half decade of medical scenarios in my family coupled with HMO Aetna having canceled my policy in mid 2006 citing "undisclosed" pre-existing condition from having been a passenger in a van accident back in 1973. Not much love do I have for the USA medical "insurance" industry's insidious 'death" panels their bean counters perp on the rest of us.

Have been a bit overwhelmed the past month with this newest wrinkle of a much larger macro picture of what has been happenign in Katy's life.

Will attempt to run a new thread on that other selling forum utilizing kind folk's suggestions. There are some 4400 listings in my eBay store, some 40,000 more unlisted items in the warehouse here, and very much wish to follow the rules as I am not seeking special dispensations other than being on overwrought father.

Katy should be proud of you, Bob. :)

Take your time, if eBay buyers need precedence that’s perfectly fine for me.

Hey, just pull my two Topix off eBay. :D

Have come to conclusion this stage of my life the comics material I have is unimportant. If it was for me, i would not bring it up, as I had to become my own physical therapist the past few years, but Katy is going to need long time care that is only just recently dawning on me this is beginning to get beyond my capabilities of knowing how to cope to keep up on this concept.

I am only just recently mostly healed from having both my hip joints replaced with metal spikes at the same time say day. Had gone zero cartilage bone on bone in the joints. Hundreds of bone fragments had broken off digging in to my meat creating mind numbing pain during the four years it took to get repaired. They chopped off the tops of my femur bones, metal spikes in my legs, metal cups in pelvis. Just recently began walking again without crutches and canes.

Electricity level of my body went down permanently - for which i take wonder pharma dilantin every day seems like for the rest of my life to regulate electricity level in my brain.

Have had to forego setting up at all shows last few years, am entirely dependent upon internet sales to make this work.

best

bob

Thanks for kind words, one's children are one's true treasures in life

(TIMELESS) TOPIX COMICS v3 #4 9.2 NM- DEC 1944

(TIMELESS) TOPIX COMICS v3 #2 5.0 VGF OCT 44

Are being taken down from eBay right now. Seems to be the only order I missed pulling off fee-Bay that I am aware of.

Am stressing to people I would rather sell off eBay as my Spring Project is to complete a transition off eBay in to my own web site which got put on hiatus when medical stuff interrupted the project a few years ago. With increases is eBay BS trying to conduct commerce there, they have finally pushed incentive in to my noggin.
