The strip's creator, Marty Links, was one of the first female members of the National Cartoonists Society. Emmy Lou's boyfriend Alvin must have had the patience of a saint. I remember reading the Emmy Lou strip. She seemed to get younger as I got older.
Arkadin
As far as science fiction comics go, Beyond Mars comes with quite a pedigree - it was written by one of the genre's most popular authors, Jack Williamson. The strip is pure pulp space opera, nicely drawn by co-creator Lee Elias. Mars was exclusive to a single newspaper, the New York Daily News, running from 1952 to 1955. I love that the strip's logo has a different look each week - that's showmanship! BB-Gun and PopKulture

BB-Gun
Don Winslow was an extremely popular character. He starred in his own strip, radio show, movies and comic book.
BB-Gun
Tip Top is fun to collect. Early issues have Tarzan by Foster and Hogarth. Later issues have some Superheroes and they always have Li'l Abner.

Zolnerowich
Just sifted through this great thread. So many cool strips. The colors on a lot of those Flash Gordons are amazing. Here is my recent pickup, courtesy of Jon Berk. Had this framed for my office. Interestingly, there's not too many Nemo pages in this thread, though of the few I saw, the one that @Ameri posted is the same! Serendipity. comicjack
BB-Gun
I have never found a Nemo strip out in the wild but there are lots of reprints and scans available. I think McCay was doing top quality art for this strip. He added animation and all sorts of things to his resume. Very impressive... I read that the series started as a weekly in November 1905 and the lion strip is just 16 strips in dated January 28 1906. Here's a 1908 strip. Winsor McCay was so far ahead of his time... in fact, I'm not sure anyone has yet caught up to him! I hadn't realized these Sunday sheets are so uncommon, or I might have pushed harder at the Berk auction; there was also another spectacular Nemo page in that auction, dated March 11, 1906, perhaps this sold to someone on the boards...? BB-Gun
Did Singapore Sal make it into the funny pages. She was pretty interesting in Don Winslow 47 and 51. Her return was a little brutal. She played rough.
