Don't think I've added anything to the Vault in almost a year. Decided to reward myself (and a couple of pints of Guinness fueled me on) Haven't seen too many of these in my preferred grade and couldn't just sit there and let it pass without throwing out a bid. Actually surprised that my bid won. So last night, Taboo was a "yes-yes"! -bc The Commissioner

Rosland
Congrats on the Strange Tales 77, 8.5 is a great grade and is worth selling some unused limbs for I think that issue was one of the first 2 PreHero issues I ever got. bc

One the most significant PH finds ever. They were pricey, no doubt, but just gorgeous copies with white to OW/W paper. bc
So, I've not been posting much for a while... Since I've been back online, haven't seen one of my favorite annual SA threads: "It's been 60 years, show us your books from 19xx!" (although I admit that I spent zero time looking for it beyond the first 2 pages). Figured it would be cool to start that up in our PHM forum, with a few twists: 1. Only post books with a cover date from the current month. 2. Only ONE book per poster per month (since the "Atlas Implosion" was still in high gear for a few more years, we have a pretty limited selection). Duplicates are fine - again, due to the limited monthly distribution. It doesn't have to be slabbed, well-loved copies are more than welcome. I'll try and remember to set the stage on the first of every month going forward for this sub-thread. This should help determine what's applicable this year: Without further adieu (insert snare drum-roll here) - Show Us Your PHM Books from May 1960! -bc Get Marwood & I, The Commissioner and KirbyJack

Popular Post mysterio
If TOS #9 wasn't my first slabbed pre-hero Marvel it was one of the very first. Bought it at Chicago Comicon ( ) back in the day. Got it from a dealer that also had a slabbed AAF #9 in similar grade. And while I love this book, I've also always kicked myself just a bit that I didn't buy the AAF once I learned how difficult that book was. Also love the JIM #58! Sweet Lou 14
You guys are taunting me with 7.0 copies of a book I don't have yet. As a general rule, anyone looking to part with a 7.0 PHM should have me on speed dial ... if it's still on my want list, I'll be interested. bc and KirbyJack
Popular Post mysterio
Speaking of 7.0, just got this book back from CGC. I've probably had it 10 years and finally got it graded for my set. Nice copy! That month Marvel was changing over from 10c covers to 12c. There were three books that had already started printing when they made the switch, so they did this overprint circle to cover up the old price and then printed the new price (you can see it in the M in the title). It is a really fun and challenging subset to collect. bc, Get Marwood & I, Frisco Larson and 2 others 4
