Nice! That's the next to-buy comic on my bucket list. Golly, I was only looking at a 3.0, and here you have a 7.0. Maybe I should up the ante and buy a 9.0.....

I started with a raw that graded at a 3.5, then upgraded to a 4.5 that I thought would be my forever copy. This one fell in my lap and I couldn’t pass it up.

As far as the later issues go, TTA 22 is definitely tough in higher grades. This is the best copy I've found in my quest:

Nice blues, lots of copies have that slight fade towards gray.

Yes, for JIM I’d agree that #52 is difficult period but especially in grade.

I like the beauty of a high grade copy, but there is something really appealing about a solid lower grade book that speaks to the collector in me. I appreciate a well loved book that you can tell passed through a few owners’ hands and was enjoyed

This one's a little rough as well … but it only cost a dime when I purchased it from a used book store back in the 70's.

Between TOS #1 and TTA #1, which should cost me less in, say, a 3.0-4.0 grade? Even at that low grade, it's going to push my budget to the edge. I wanted to try and get one of these before the ceiling went even higher. I can forget a JIM #1 or ST #1 - they're out of my league now.
