Thanks! Didn't know that.

OSPG 22 has a very extensive write-up on the history of the Atlas Implosion & PHM titles as well. This is the one that really got me addicted. I will caution that several of the charts showing what issue is produced by month do have errors. I created my own spreadsheet based on this data and had to correct it over time.

Image result for Overstreet Price Guide 22

Hey @KirbyJack - is there much difference between these two write-ups?

Hey @KirbyJack

Ever look into this ? Inquiring minds want to know :)

I read in a Facebook group that this book seemed to be stories of disgruntled artists/writers at Marvel taking pot-shots at Stan Lee and others. Kind of like a "here's the seamy underside Marvel doesn't want to you know" kind of thing. I hope it's not the case.

I haven’t read the book but Stan was their boss.   Every boss is going to have some ex employees that didn’t like him or that didn’t like being bossed around.   Now take that boss and make him incredibly famous and likely quite wealthy to boot.   The sour grapes factor only ramps up.

The only reason there aren’t more books along those lines is because no one would find a tell all about the office machinations at Fifth Third Bank to be very interesting

Thanks bc!   You had to know I’d be back... one does not simply quite pre heroes!

So how is your collection coming?   I remember it was already spectacular years ago

Nah, I’ve got a better plan; if you see a rag when you look at your 8.0, you should replace it with an actual rag. It will serve as a reminder of what you’ve done.

As a service to a fellow boardie, I will selflessly trade you straight up.

Indeed!

I completed the entire Atlas Implosion to PHM period early last year after almost a decade of hunting. Here's a gratuitous Gallery plug:

Out of the 178 total issues, I have 100 slabbed copies with an average grade of 8.0. Need to sell the under copies some day; have multiple sets of AA, AAF, Strange Worlds, World of Fantasy and many extra raw copies of the Big Four titles.

Weird how you can wind up with 300+ books when the complete set is only 178.

Great to see some of the "Founding Fathers" of this thread resurfacing :)

Awesome!   Hey maybe hit me up when you sell the undercopies :)

it is funny to think of this entire great  little niche being under 200 books.   That’s like two weeks of current releases!

Would you happen to have a World Of Fantasy #16 4.0 or higher? Hard to find.

Unfortunately, that's the only WoF that I don't have a duplicate. This one is staying in the Vault:
