Finally, I found a real nice copy of this issue after a 20+ year search. Still have my raw FN copy to read. One of the first PH I purchased off the stand as a youngin.

Didn't notice this before but isn't that guy in the lower right corner stepping in the molten steel? I'd make a pun about a "hot foot" but haven't had enough caffeine.

It sort of reminds me of the cover of Marvel Comics 1 in some ways...

I have not been this thrilled in quite awhile about acquiring a PH book. They say about collecting is the thrill of the hunt. Well, for this issue it was more like frustration.

Pretty!
I’ve seen a few on line, but I’ve never held a nice copy. My old copy was the single roughest in my PHM collection.

Mine too. State of it

That's lovely :cloud9:

Will you be getting the other version to complete the cents set?

And to make us both feel inadequate. If I just had a time machine I'd go back and bid on it...

Yeah, I remember when that one came up. Got too rich for me at the time. Do you have a nice #73?  Another elusive issue in grade that I have not located.

Never noticed this either. Wonder if one is scarcer than the other.

Click on the picture above Rick and it'll take you to the rest of them :)

Oh, and by the way...

I was just an avid spectator during the Shasta Lake auction. But man those were some real beauties!

And yes, they realized some monstrous prices (pun fully intended).

Here's a couple of the uber grade books from that collection:

Silver Age (1956-1969):Horror, Tales of Suspense #9 (Marvel, 1960) CGC NM+ 9.6 Off-white to white pages....

Silver Age (1956-1969):Adventure, Tales of Suspense #16 (Marvel, 1961) CGC NM+ 9.6 Off-white to white pages....

Silver Age (1956-1969):Mystery, Tales to Astonish #7 (Marvel, 1960) CGC NM 9.4 Off-white to white pages....
