Many years ago, in order to prevent the total annihilation of his civilization and homeworld, Norrin Radd bargained with the Devourer of Worlds. Imbued with the Power Cosmic, he became the Silver Surfer and Herald of Galactus. However, on the fateful day he arrived on Earth, for love of humanity, he betrayed his master, and thus was cursed to never traverse the space-ways again. This is his story. Includes the Watcher back-up "The Wonder of the Watcher!" Story by Stan Lee. Art by Gene Colan and Syd Shores. 68-page giant.

"The Good, the Bad, and the Uncanny!" Guest-starring Thor. Written by Stan Lee. Art by John Buscema and Sal Buscema. Cover by John Buscema. When the Silver Surfer ventures to fabled Asgard, home of the Norse Gods, a misunderstanding sets the Sentinel of the Spaceways against the mighty God of Thunder. It's the Power Cosmic vs. godly might. It's Thor vs. the Silver Surfer in a battle that will truly shake the heavens! Includes the Watcher back-up "The Terror of Tim Boo Ba." tory by Stan Lee. Art by Howard Purcell and Paul Reinman. Low distribution. 68-page giant. NOTE: This issue sports one of my favorite covers of all time. John Buscema has really captured the awe inspiring majesty of the two most powerful heroes in the Marvel Universe. Thor stands defiantly on the Rainbow Bridge swinging mighty Mjolnir around to meet his streaking opponent in a collision that I know I'll feel through the pages themselves. This pic is alive with energy! - Odinson, Lone Star Comics Archivist

1ST PRINTING (2nd printing exists). (W) Robert Kirkman (A) Tony Moore BW 32pp $2.95 Monthly ongoing Series In stores the week of October 1st. THE CONCEPT: How many hours are in a day when you don't spend half of them watching television? When is that last time any of us REALLY worked to get something that we wanted? How long has it been since any of us really NEEDED something that we WANTED? The world we knew is gone. The world of commerce and frivolous necessity has been replaced by a world of survival and responsibility. An epidemic of apocalyptic proportions has swept the globe, causing the dead to rise and feed on the living. In a matter of months society has crumbled, no government, no grocery stores, no mail delivery, no cable TV. In a world ruled by the dead, we are forced to finally start to live. THIS ISSUE: Rick Grimes is not prepared for this. A couple months ago he was a small town cop who had never shot anyone and only ever saw one dead body. Separated from his family he must now sort through the death and confusion to try and find his wife and son. All the while fighting for his survival. How did this happen? How did things get so bad so fast? How will things ever return to normal after everything he's seen? From the guys behind BATTLE POPE and BRIT comes something COMPLETELY different.

It's only a five-hour drive, but this is not the case when all the gas stations are closed and your car is out of gas. On top of that, there are new rules in this world. One of the most important... don't go into the city, any city... EVER. Rick doesn't know this rule... but he'll learn. From the guys behind BATTLE POPE and BRIT comes something COMPLETELY different.
