Will dealers actually fly in to look at your collection?

Profit margin? I marked everything up our usual 10% then ended up selling everything below cost just to create customer goodwill.

Someone just reminded me of another comic that came from that collection.

The Target #7 that sold in the October Heritage auction for $10,000 was another one of the books that came out of the Chicago buy.

 

Sigh...that's why it sucks being a dealer sometimes.

what did the book grade? hey! but you made your money at the time. HELL! sometimes i wish i never sold/consigned my books to kieth contartino. sigh...that's why it sucks when you need money sometimes.

It came back an 8.5

 

I'm not really complaining (too much), I know sometimes people think dealers all cherry pick the best stuff for themselves, but that ain't always true (well, I take that back - Fishler certainly has an incredible collection - and I'm just thinking of his posters, not to mention his comics and artwork).

 

 

But I bet 'ya that Keith got you top dollar for your books. He was pretty darn amazing at turning up incredibly high grade copies of Silver Age.

Yep,

If I remember correctly I think I sold the Target #7 for $1,000

so I feel your pain.

 

and especially when I think of stuff that we actually had no money in

(see a BOX of high grade Suspense #63 for $3.00 each) that would quickly

add up to a bundle today.

keith actually consigned a TOS 63 for me, i think he sold it for $125-$175 it was when it was getting hot as the first SA cap origin. hell! i can't remember but the note is at my parents house.
