Yes I obviously knew shilling was not a morally ok practice, but I didn't consider it to be outright scamming, any more than motivating the auction to a higher price at a faster speed.

Im not trying to play the victim,I'm not looking for forgiveness.

If shilling is by defining tin scamming, the I guess I'm a spammer, but I've never once come close to scamming in the Forum sales threads. I've bought and sold an AF 15, keys across the ages from boar dies, and always with the upmost professionalism.

I messed up real bad here, I see that now and I understand. If you want to prob me, ban me, or never deal with me again I also understand. But you'd be losing a member who outside of this shilling duck up has conducted tons of successful and honorable deals.

The bolded part above is just shows you're only in it to take people for their money. An honest seller would let the auction run it's natural course, you win some, you lose some. Shilling just shows where your ethics and morals lie, and your's are lying in a sewer.

I hate to say it, but this is basically the definition of a sociopath.

I would like to take a moment to defend myself however, as I have been a decent member of this boards marketplace, outside of this YouTube blunder. Take a look at my feedback thread, please feel free to contact any of those members about my qualities as a seller and buyer. Pics always pay and ship in time, with the most active comma possible.

That doesn't make shilling your own auctions acceptable. Your actions, all of them, are judged accordingly. If you are a firefighter and save lives every week, but murder someone, you are still a murderer.

Good job saving us all a bunch of time and money with you. I think no one will want to do business with you now, not openly anyway.

I find that metaphor a bit ridiculous. If I've lost peoples business that's more than understandable though.

I find your rationalizations ridiculous. 5432.gif Did you sell a Superman #1 to Beige recently? Oh wait, it was this:

I full heatedly take responsibility and apologize for the eBay shilling. As you can see the are my first auctions and I didn't know the norms, or the fact that what i was doing was so heinous. All the auctions will be take down immediately.

Jkim2059 was the shilling acct, jkim2058 was the selling account.

While getting it all out on the table, I have been accused of using personal hardships to attempt to garner sympathy and even sales. A lot of you fail to believe the severity of some of these real life situations. At every step I've offered doubters to PM me for proof of doctors bills, police reports or the like, never once have I been taken up on the offer, yet the claims of "BS" continue.

I've spent 10/ of thousands of dollars on purchases on this site and have sold thousands as well, I up on this eBay thing, but I'm tired of feeling like I'm a black sheep for being open about what's going on in my life

Ike illing to Dow hate we to mKe this right, or walk away from these boards all together. I've LOVED. my time here, made friends and had great convos but I continue to feel like I'm against it.

Drew.

If you need to be told that ripping people off is bad, then you have some serious issues.

Don't try to cloud the issue by trotting out the sympathy card.

No sympathy being looked for here, just trying to explain myself and give everyone their chance to either have it at me or drop me some advice.

If you are seeking advice, I would suggest:

1) That you do not commit felonies anymore

2) That you seek legal consul prior to telling people on a public forum about felonies you just committed

Cat got his tongue

Yet it didn't over the last week when he kept mentioning the fact that he had an auction ongoing, at what price it was at, in other boardie's sales threads that were selling some of the 3-D books. doh!

Nothing like shameless self-promotion and questionable tactics all at the same time.

But he'll say it wasn't him that shilled up the price of the books, but rather his "friend". :eyeroll:

Nope I'll own up to it. I shilled up a few times, just to push the auction along. I know people put in max bids so I just do the minimum bid till i hit their peak, then back off.

This is questionable behavior, no excuses, but nope I'm not going to lie about it.

Listen I've never been the most popular on these boards, I've had tons of enemies over my time here, but talk to anyone I've done a deal with and they'll all have nothing but good things to say about our transactions themselves.

I am who I am.

Um...you know shill bidding in internet auctions is felony wire fraud, right? That's decades in prison...

You have a pattern of bad behaviour on these boards. And it's not just shilling - let's not forget you refusing to honour a deal because you decided at the 11th hour that you had underpriced your books.

Your chat about not knowing that shilling was questionable simply does not ring true. Although I do admit that the amateur manner in which you went about it is pretty funny.

I think you probably need to accept that you're done here as a seller (likely as a buyer too, in all honesty).

I think the best thing you can do is say sorry, say you won't do it again and then don't do it again.

(shrug)

As far as personal life goes, sometimes being too open of a book draws criticism. May play your personal life a little closer to your chest.

lol

Come on Roy. He's not doing a TMI about some girl he dated...he's being open about scamming people.

Like her cup size, what she does for a living and how often she's confused for a man, TMI?

This is how I think of it, and please don't take it personally. This is just how I see what you've said so far, and if I'm off the mark I'm big enough to admit it.

You shill your auctions. Now, I find it hard to believe that you didn't think/know this was wrong, and the severity of it. That's beside the point though. For me, the most apropriate metaphore would be this:

I sell you a "high grade" key book. I find out later it was restored, but as I have your cash I ignore it and don't tell you. I could have fixed it but I didn't think it was all that serious. Now, you send it to CGC to get it graded and it comes back PLOD (restored with a purple label). You, quite rightly, contact me to ask for a partial or full refind. I say sure, but I knew it was going to come back PLOD but didn't think it was a big deal and didn't say anything even though I could have saved you the CGC fees and given you some/all of your cash back.

Now, if this happend to you, would you ever trust me to buy another high dollar book again? I wouldn't, and that's what a lot of people will now think about you. I hope you can learn from this and hopefully rehabilitate your reputation on the boards. You're right about this place being an awsome place to buy and sell. That's why I make every effort to be above board and if I screw up, I take my lumps and live with it. Don't defend yourself. Simply admit you made the mistake, regardless of your rationalisations and do your utmost to make amends. Personally, I'd contact everyone you high bidder/winner shilled and give them some of their money back. That would be a start.

Thanks,

James

Once all the serial litterers and noise polluters are round up the authorities are coming hard after ebay shillers.
