Got to see Max Brooks, author of World War Z and the Zombie Survival Guide, speak at a local college and got some first editions signed. These are two extras that I thought I would let go here on the boards. One is a regular 1st edition, 1st printing and the second is a rare Advance Reading Copy.

World War Z - by Max Brooks - SIGNED 1st edition

 

First edition, 1st printing (many first editions for sale online are later printings). A very nice copy in protective mylar dj cover. The main flaw is a 7/8" scratch on the right side of the fc. There is a 1/4' tear on the top edge of the dj and minor wear to the corner tips. The other scratches appearing in the scan are on the mylar, not the dj itself.

 

The book itself has very little wear at all, but there is a very faint stain on the outer edge of the pages on the bottom that does not go into the interior (pictured below). Overall a very nice copy with minor wear that makes it more affordable than most other signed true firsts of this book.

World War Z - by Max Brooks - SIGNED Advance Reading Copy- RARE!

 

This is a scarce gem. Advance Reading Copies (also known as Uncorrected Proofs) are sent out to reviewers prior to publication and so they predate the actual first edition. They are not sold to the public and are much scarcer than the regular editon. Currently there is only one signed ARC for sale online with an asking price of $400.

 

This copy (trade pb as issued) is in very nice condition with some minor shelf wear along the bottom edge of the bc and a slightly bumped bottom bc spine corner. A cool, rare zombie collectible that that doesn't come for sale every day.
