Looks like there is a new record price for a Bat 1 page - the Joker splash is showing sold on ebay for $10K

At this rate, it is almost worthwhile to break apart all restored copies and sell them as individual pages.

Huge price. Incredible splash.  At this rate the Tec 27 bat pages should be 15-25k imo

It's just still strange to me thinking of individual page values, but if the origin splash is $1500-2000, the Joker splash is $6-10K, page 3 is the Joker card, so it's gotta be $1500-2000, each of the other five Joker 1st story pages must be $600 or more each, so that is $12-15K for the first 8 pages. Other story pages with Batman have to be $300-400 each, plus the other Joker splash, the unmasking of Catwoman page, and then the centerfold (which is also a Bob Kane feature page). Those last three have to be $1500-ish each, so break up value of the interior pages now seems like it would be $23-28K.

Plus covers, I cant see any reason even a restored copy should bring less than $30-35K now as you could probably pull it apart and extract that value.

Not now, but in the future it might be, especially ultra low grade copies

Hi, You have a page from the same book right? Page 3 was it? I have page 8. I'm doubting it was sold for 10K also. I believe they are from the exact same book as this splash page. Another Joker splash just sold on 12/15 on CC for 4,600. I don't know why both of them have the same lower corner cleanly cut as they do.

You've got a good eye, Professor.  Yes, I have page 3.  And you are right:  the CC page is not the same page as the eBay page, despite the peculiar corner cut.

The game is afoot.

Just to clarify, I was the seller of that Bat 1 page (Joker splash).  Sold it for $6,305 at auction back in August I believe (should be on GPA).. buyer asked for time to pay for it, but it had dropped off of eBay before he was ready to pay (he took a little longer than we had originally planned).  I re-listed it and he bought/paid for it over the weekend.  The odd price was just the original sale price (plus $15 s&h) from the auction sale.  I put it up at $10k with 'make an offer to owner' on it, so that nobody else would hit the BIN while he was finding the auction and checking out.   (so it was a real sale)

Thanks for clarifying, Peter.

Got it, thanks. I'm still a bit confused as to the similarity between yours and the CC page - the 2 pages are different, and yet both have that peculiar corner cut.  Do you have any insight on that?

Yeah that is weird!  Definitely two different pages though!  Just a pure coincidence really.  These parted out pages generally come from really low grade/incomplete books to begin with, so being a page from near the front of the book, pieces/corners out would make sense.

I didn't realize this was put up for auction. It was on ebay and I think Mycomicshop for years at one point. I think it was sitting around $5K or so back then.

I believe the seller was a board member. I remember seeing a sale announcement.

Got it, well happy it finally sold because it was up for a while. There was a time I had a CGC .5, needed a back cover, and was heavily considering buying this. I guess going the resto route. Problem was two of my interior pages were missing 3/4th of each page, so just wouldn't have made sense regardless.
