I don’t know what freaks me out more - that someone has the brass to try to sell this, or that there are 13 watchers watching him do it

Yeah, totally can't figure why this buyer would try to sell this book on the eBay flea market website where the buyers with no moolah hang out.  doh!

With a CGC highest graded copy of a book like this and with only 145 total copies graded to date, they should throw it into a CL auction and hope that some deep pocketed sucker astute buyer  suffering from a severe case of FOMO like the bidder who paid $44K for this copy of Transformers 1 with some 3,300 slabbed copies to date will snap it up for a mere $50K:

Give it some time, this will double in value in like 5-10 years hm.  Look at how much a NM #98 and IH #181 in 9.9 are worth now!!! And back then people (including myself) were laughing at how much the buyers paid for these respective books.  Now they're laughing at us lol.

That would be a market changer for sure. I'll throw my guess out there, why not. I'll guess a little more conservatively at $43k.

Went for over $50k after all.  Seems like a market changer now but I still think it will be viewed as underpriced in the not to distant future

I would not be the least bit surprised to see this sell for over $50,000 — perhaps well over $50,000.

You are the Bat 1 CGC .5 estimation ^^

The Bat 1 3.0 with a lot of tape sold for $192,000

If Bronze and Copper Keys comics are starting to sell for insane prices it's only fitting some love is shown to the Golden Age.

Yeah, fell a little short on my guesstimate. Lol. But I'm glad the Golden Age books are having some exciting price movements, should be a lot more when compared to Silver/Bronze books.

I'm happy for Leroy and anyone else who owns a Batman #1. (thumbsu

Batman 1 5.0 for $360,000

unattractive 3.0 for $192,000

0.5 for $51,600

Wow, but appropriate when compared to the crazy prices on those Marvel SA keys.

With these Bat 1 price levels, perhaps the wheels are in motion on the CC plod Tec 27 ?

Bat 1 and Cap1 are the books to look out for, especially if you can purchase them but it appears the secret is out

I know you mean 00063922399000111127459004.jpg

Oh, come on now, you guys are trying to compare night and day here.  (:

That Transformers 1 sale for $44K took place way way back in February and in today's hyper fast moving CA marketplace, that's like a whole lifetime ago and that Transformers book has probably already moved way ahead of this oldy moldy fugly 0.5 Bat 1 at a price point of only $51,600.  lol

Anyone else notice all of the complete, restored bat1’s have disappeared from eBay besides the 9.6?  Cheapest complete bat1 left is the voldy 4.5 that had restoration removal for $195k. Dunno how it managed to nab an unrestored label considering the previous label under cgc said cover cleaned if I remember correctly.  I wonder if the days of a 5 figure complete bat1 are passing.

I’m sure you mean with cover, but I’ve been watching a coverless complete blue label Bat 1 sit on the bay for $28k. Not mine. It’s priced about triple the last sale of a coverless blue label, but I’m actually a bit surprised it hasn’t sold.
