Owned by Mucher_dk, original purchase from either New England Comics or Mile High Comics [blank] New England or Mile High are only best guesses, but it could have been another one of the shops that advertised heavily in the comics back in 1985. It's possible that only one or two offered the gold and blue MM, but which one(s) is a good question. I wish the paperwork had survived. jdandns
It's probably not helpful because Ebay title lines allowed so few characters back then, I didn't have the room to list what serial number it was, but here's the email from Ebay with the sale details. The name of the person I sold it to is not in the list above, so I'm not sure if he passed it on, or still has it. If I'm remembering correctly, this book was raw when I got it in a lot purchased from Ebay for, I believe, $40 or so, sometime in the early to mid 2000's. There were several comics in the lot, seemingly unrelated, and there wasn't much to the description of any of them, it just mentioned something like "Miracleman #1 signed". I'm not even sure it said who had signed, but I really wanted the lot for the copy of "Spidey Super Stories #1" that was in it, so I didn't worry much about the MM. Obviously, I thrilled to find it was the Gold Edition with certificate, which I was aware of, being a big Moore fan since the mid 80's. I was even happier when I sold it, which I did at that point only because I'd acquired other Moore signatures by then. My seller name on Ebay is/was "jdandns", which is the same as my name here. As you can see, this was before we were highly incentivized to offer free shipping on all items, so I actually charged $6 for the shipping on this, which I think mostly covered priority mail with signature confirmation, which I certainly would've used on a book that sold for this much. Bart Allen
Didn't expect to get this, so I can finally share my second book of the Gold Club Though it appears to be a double, yet again, as it corresponds with CGC 9.6 #1056931007 which was for sale on eBay during Feb 2017 -- unless it's the same book, but was unslabbed and kept in bad condition for nigh-seven years whilst travelling across the North Atlantic to England Edited January 31 by Bart Allen mucher_dk, kapzilla and ADAMANTIUM

mucher_dk
I'll have to dig them out and check, but I don't remember the surface of my certificates (also have the blue) being this "textured". Did they switch to a different paper type at some point, or am I merely confused? From recent ebay auction: Not the sharpest photos in the world, but the best I can do right now (click on thumbnails to expand). PS: And, sorry, not color corrected either. Thoughts, anyone? PPS: Wow, this topic is even deader than I thought. No intellectual curiosity whatsoever. Well, never mind ... The #164 certificate looks badly faded, but that could be due to lighting conditions (although I guess it can't be ruled out that saturation was reduced in an effort to hide discoloration). Yeah, I noticed such a thing when you brought the subject to attention with the difference in surface ~ Also, not sure whether this'll effect the books that are encapsulated (with Moore's signature): https://www.cgccomics.com/news/article/12753/
