Another recent acquisitions is "Master of Life and Death" by Robert Silverberg, with cover art by Emsh. I wonder if the buying public back in the 50's fully appreciated the talent and workmanship that went into these novels. This is one of Silverberg's earliest works, and one where he thought he was able to write a novel with a complicated plot, and also tie up all of the loose ends.

Found at a local shop today.  Other than the fading, the book is structurally excellent and was only $12.99.

According to the store owner, he priced it low because he didn't think any of his customers would recognize it.  When I spotted it and recognized it instantly he admitted that he should have known I would have known what it was right away.
