Comics, Pulps, and Paperbacks: Why such a discrepancy in values?

My understanding is that after Fearn saw the potential of the character he wrote the novel shown above based on his earlier yarns but with new origin etc. He went on to write many novels in the series. Amazingly most of them were published in the 'Star Weekly' insert to the Toronto newspaper so the housewives of rural Canada were enjoying some unabashed SF. This is the last of the 3 Harlequins.

I purchased a large science fiction paperback and digest collection. Heres a few of the paperbacks

Gorgo and Konga , b movie rip offs of Godzilla and King Kong

two more obscure books Basil Rathbone selects strange tales and a sci fi sleeze book Woman from another Planet.

and finally a 007 spoof book Agent 008 Meets Modesta Blaze by Clyde Allison
