Can you submit comics in person to CGC in Sarasota?

Was looking around for this and couldn't find the answer anywhere. Do you take submissions in person at your offices and how long is the turnaround on that?

Yes you can submit to CGC in person in Sarasota, however in order to do that you need to have one of our paid collector's society memberships and we also need a 24 hour advance notice. We have different tiers of service so it would depend on what tier of service you put your books under for the turnaround time. Here is a list of our prices and turn-around times.

 

Our tiers are as follows, return shipping is additional and all turnaround times are estimated. *There is a $5 handling fee applied to each invoice.

Modern:

20 business days

books published from 1980-present only

books valued at or under $200 each

$18 per book

*FastTrack Modern

10 business day turnaround

$10 additional per comic

 

Economy:

40 business days

books valued at or under $300 each

$35 per book

*FastTrack Economy

20 business days

$10 additional per comic

 

ValueTier

40 business days

minimum 30 comics per submission

books valued at or under $150

$25 per book

*FastTrack ValueTier

20 business days

$10 additional per comic

 

Standard:

15 business days

books valued at or under $1000 each

$60 per book

 

Express:

5 business days

books valued at or under $3000 each

$95 per book

 

WalkThru:

1 business day/Same-Day

books valued at over $3000

Charge = 3% declared value

Why do you have to have a paid membership?

We are in a secure facility where you have to be buzzed in by security. They need to know everyone coming in and out of the buildings. Being a member we have all of that information on file and our buildings are more secure that way. It is a perk of having a membership.

You're right it is $150. Missed my typo.

One of the boardies, bffnut, does this a lot. From what I understand, he much prefers personally submitting the books on-site because it takes the guesswork out of the shipment process (no damaged packages).

I plan on buying the premium membership for the $150 credit towards grading.

 

Can I buy that on site or will I need to do that ahead of the visit?

 

Also will I need to fill out forms before visit or can that be done while there with a rep?

HI,

 

You would need to buy the membership before coming to our offices. You also need to call us 24 hrs in advanced to schedule an appointment.

 

You don't need to fill out the forms prior. however it will make the appointment faster if you do.
