Ranking the Most Desirable Golden Age Superhero Comics

For personal desirability

Cap 1

Marvel 1

All American 16

Detective 1

Batman 1

Detective 27

More Fun 52

All Star 8

Flash 1

Planet 1

If money is completely off the table these are my faves. Other than Action 1 and Superman 1 being the keys they are they don't do a thing for me. If I had all the money in the world there are still others not on my list I'd go after before those two unless the price was too good to pass up.

I tend to agree. Its hard to drop big bucks on a book like Sup 1 since it is 1) mostly reprints, and 2) not a 1st app. Cap 1 or Flash 1 on the other hand? :cloud9:

I'll go with the Golden Age Comic books that I most desire, which is not going to match up well with the masses.

1. Detective Comics 27

2. Suspense Comics 3

3. Marvel Comics 1

4. Action Comics 1

5. Detective Comics 31

6. Startling Comics 49

7. Captain America Comics 1

8. Wonder Woman 1

9. Marvel Mystery Comics 5

10. Exciting Comics 66, specifically Cheetah's Church copy. I know it's not right to covet another man's comic book, but I do.....

I own a copy of the bolded comics.

1. Captain America Comics #1

2. Detective 31 and 35

3. All-Star Comics #3

4. World's Fair 1939

5. More Fun Comics #56

6. All Select 1

7. Human Torch 5

8. Superman #3

9. Marvel Mystery 9 and 28

10. Batman 1

I would be happy with any of the early Captain America Comics and might substitute Marvel Mystery 40 and 44 for 9 and 28.

I haven't made a push for most of these comics other than the Human Torch 5 and 8. How can I spend so much money on an Action 1 when I would rather have 19, 21 and 23.

OK, Superman 3 has a train on the cover and the streamline was designed by Raymond Loewy. I want one.

I like supe 3 better than the action 13 train cover. I'd still take an action 13 first though.
