They’re all amazing. I'd seen the hayride cover and thought it was just random awesomeness.... I had no idea there was a run of equal impressiveness.... sacentaur
In the Diary Confessions mini-run (9-14), GCD says that issue 13 doesn’t exist (no mention of this in Overstreet).
Popular Post fett
In her book Michelle Nolan makes a compelling argument about why she thinks it does not exist, and other long time romance collectors have been looking for this book for many years, so they are probably correct, but I'm still looking to fill in that glaring hole. Luckily I can say #12 WAS a pain in the butt. Point Five, pmpknface, Scrooge and 8 others

Popular Post szav
After seeing these posted I went and scrounged up a cheap copy online. #9 was the only one I found but man, what a classic romance cover. Love this sly guy covering up the phone as he swoops in, and the poor sap in the picture frame, and the great color scheme. Anyone confident in saying who the cover artist is? GCD just says ?Bob Powell? Also I was wrong about previously stating I'd never seen these before...sort of. Wife bought the book below for me a few months ago, as a joke, but I'll get around to filling it in some day. pmpknface, comicnoir, Sqeggs and 4 others
sacentaur
I was looking at a My Secret Marriage slab, which CGC denotes as “Canadian edition” - I thought all Superior books were printed in Canada, and that there is no matching US version? CGC screws up on that all the time. Bell Feature Canadian Whites are given Canadian edition. They are the only editions. sacentaur

sacentaur
Fox Romance books present an interesting dilemma in that their covers often aren’t very good, the stories can be clumsily written, not to mention interior artwork that usually seems mediocre at best. And because their rebound (4 comics) ‘fatties’ may contain issues where the first page of each story is missing (having appeared inside the front cover of the original edition), it’s been difficult for me to reconcile the collectability of these books. Yet Fox Romance seems scarce and can command some pretty high prices in comparison to other generic romance. They have an oddball appeal that can be tough to resist. So where would you place Fox in the Romance hierarchy (St. John/Baker, Atlas, DC, Superior, L. B. Cole, Harvey, Ace, etc.)?

So where would you place Fox in the Romance hierarchy (St. John/Baker, Atlas, DC, Superior, L. B. Cole, Harvey, Ace, etc.)? St. John (thank you Matt Baker) certainly would be to Romance what Atlas is to Horror. Placing all the other publishers in a tier type list is still challenging at this point as the Romance collector genre is still sorting out the classic cover/stories books. There are a lot of key stand out books for sure across publishers but not sure beyond St. John, DC and Atlas if any other publishers Romance output is figured out to be 'the' house that did it best. But to try and give some idea to where it could be headed: ACG is getting a lot of second looks. Ace's painted covers are on the radar, the smaller guys like Master/Story, Superior and Comic Media seemed to have the 'goods' between the covers in terms of the salacious. Harvey seem to be the overlooked/underappreciated step child And as far as photo covers go , Fawcett and Quality did it best but from opposite ends of the spectrum: Fawcett for purity, innocence, and ideal romantic fantasies. Quality for the 'implied' come hither girl. No one did that better imho. Point Five, szav, sacentaur and 2 others 3
