This one seems similar to many of his other romance covers. A tough issue, apparently, because this copy is tied for highest graded. I don't imagine that will last. Actually a nice, bright copy, although marred by the cover damage.

Too bad about that cover staining.  Right on their faces too!

NRs! I should probably send it back for a reholdering, but on a 3.5, it hardly seems worth the effort.

Your eyes are better than mine! I can't see anything under her glove. hm

I tried adjusting the contrast, but it's very dark to begin with.

I was going to add "Especially in Greenwich Village!", and then I noticed it actually was part of the cover blurb on this very book. lol

Probably best to steer clear of New Yorkers in general, just to be on the safe side.

One has to wonder if Greenwich Village artists actually wore ties while painting in the 1950s.

How rare is Cindy 37 (relatively speaking)?

Not super tough but definitely hot -- or at least it was. I've owned a couple of copies but the prices they were going for outweighed my interesting in keeping them, so I bid them a fond farewell.

Not completely sure whether I like this cover or not. But finding EC romance in higher grades is pretty tough.

It’s a bit weird, it’s tough in grade and it’s Ingels before he got going all in on horror.

Imagine the shock in a few months to subscribers when Weird Science showed up in its place...

After they had earlier been switched from pure western to western romance. The best though was EC's going from Moon Girl and the Prince to Moon Girl to Moon Girl Fights Crime to A Moon, a Girl ... Romance to Weird Fantasy :)

I wonder if anybody actually subscribed through that whole sequence?

I know my great uncle was pretty upset when Moon Girl shifted to romance at the time but I know he bought that title off the newsstands. He had a few subs during those years for reading copies and I do remember it was common when a title got cancelled they would often just send you a different title to fulfill your subscription instead of refunding the difference. He wasn’t really happy when that happened. A couple of my cousins had subs during the silver age where they did just send you the new title to finish your sub.

Good Question...hm

And not just any copy. One from the amazing and possibly only real romance OO collector - Nancy Wessner.

Nancy was to romance as Edgar was to... well, everything

The arrival date appears to be written by the same person who wrote "Nancy." Do we know whether the newsstand was putting aside copies for her?
