Speaking of Love pulps, just posted today in the PulpMags group are these links to an exhibit and video about Gloria Stoll (Karn) -

https://hyperallergic.com/442583/gloria-stoll-karn-pulp-magazines/

The video has a nice conversation with the artist -

This is linked to the current exhibit at the Norman Rockwell Museum - https://www.nrm.org/2017/12/gloria-stoll-karn-pulp-romance/

The artist had also been covered in an issue of Illustration - # 25 - Sold out at the publisher but you can peruse the article (albeit at low res) here - http://issuu.com/illomag/docs/ill25?e=1289036/3022040

That last link showcases many more examples of her work, including outside of the Romance genre where she was also prolific.

Great links!  I'm going to try to get out there to the museum before that exhibit is gone.

I heart Illustration, it's an great magazine and I didn't realize there was an article on her in it!

One of the images used in the link was also used as the cover to that issue of Illustration. Without that, I wouldn't have made the connection with the Illustration article either. It's such a nice painting that it stuck with me.

Also, <3 Illustration. I still love paper and having the mags available at hand is a pleasure. Illustration is a great $ value. I remember when issue # 1 came out, I didn't preorder it and could not find a single store carrying it until, randomly, I found it at Bart Bush's store right being the counter when I wasn't looking for it. Gotta love retailers who carry a wide range of products. Haven't missed an issue since and don't regret it.

Wow!  Easily highest the highest graded.  I have a 6.5 (the scan of which is lost somewhere in the wilds of photobucket).

Scrooge, thanks again for the link!

I was contemplating a trip out there this week to see the exhibit and noticed there was an event Saturday June 2 at 5pm-

Gloria Stoll Karn and the Women of Pulps

I saddled up, drove 2+ hours Saturday afternoon, got to the museum about an hour before the event and got to enjoy the exhibit plus have a quick snack on the outdoor patio.  I was (more than) pleased to hear that there was a surprise guest at the event- Gloria Stoll Karn!  Saunders focused on eight women illustrators, had some very interesting information about all of them and then Gloria got up and answered a few questions herself.  I got a chance to talk with her, David Saunders, met Craig Yoe and the pulp collector who had started PulpGallery.com.

I'm glad I went!

So, she wasn't announced but was there? Wow, great decision to go. ^^

Curious: who were the other 7 women mentioned?
