I think this Action Comics #75. Check out some auctions on eBay. The back cover looks like a match.

THANK YOU that was killing me trying to figure out.  The circle logo had me convinced it was a 70s 25c book but NOTHING MATCHED.  I thought I was losing it.  How on earth did you figure it out?

Elementary my dear Watson. If this truly was a golden age copy, I figured it had to be an issue before #99 as with that issue the Action Comics logo went from being full size and straight as it appears in the movie image, to becoming smaller and tilted.

Next, the Superman circle in the upper left first appeared with issue #16.

Then I found there are only four issues between issues #16 and #98 that have the "Action Comics" logo in red lettering on a white or very light background over a yellow cover: issues #33, 44, 62 and 75.

Now all I had to do is find a back cover that matched and after looking through some online listings of the back covers of these four issues, "voila", it's issue #75!

Looks like the one in the movie image to me and the only one that even comes close to matching the front and back covers.

The question I have is what movie is this from?

British Comedy A Touch Of The Sun from 1956 - featuring the UK Superman comic #72 probably published the year before - featuring the cover art from Action comics # 201 , The Australian #99 by the same publisher also below but not likely to be the issue featured

Many DC's in view plus a couple from other publisher's in this clip from the Rolling Stones documentary "Sympathy for the Devil" - note - it does feature a reading from Mein Kampf so turn the sound off if you don't want to hear that

Steed is seen reading Tintin albums in several early, black-and-white episodes of The Avengers, and in at least one color (colour?) episode from the Tara King era...

Nice !!  Two superb Tin Tin's !! Land of Black Gold and Tin Tin in Tibet .

That first one looks like the title on the cover might be in Arabic  hm

Sorry if this was posted here before. This picture is from another boardie in another  thread in silver forum. Avengers 60 in Mash. There's several episodes with Radar holding a comic book. Obviously not timely since the show takes place during the Korean war.

...and of course it was posted on page 1 :tonofbricks: lol

anyway its worth another look

I believe JC mentioned this earlier. The episode of Different Strokes where Arnold stole the Spider-Man comic (said to be #1 on the show) was actually Spider-Man #14.

This is the best picture I could find, There is also Invaders #7 and I can't tell what the other Superman comic is.

The episode is Season 4, Episode 5 - The Big Heist.

Would you happen to have an updated screenshot? Its not visible anymore :(

I saw that episode more than once but I always missed the beginning where I guess they showed the book. Yeah the lady kept mentioning "first edition spider-man" or something to that effect.

The screenshot by @kav on page 4 from "naked city" is stunning :whatthe:

If dem boys only knew the fortunes they had behind them! These high quality super man screenshots from the 50's are eye candy
