Comic Pressing Videos for Sale - Cleaning & Humidifying Too

25 posts in this topic

The Southeast High Grade Comic Collectors Group (SEHGCC) is offering for sale 3 videos demonstrating comic dry cleaning, humidification and pressing.

Here is a trailer for these videos:

What follows is an overview of the videos and the purchase terms for them.

—————

GOALS

SEHGCC produced these videos to show seasoned amateur demonstrations of (challenging and often secretive (shrug) ) comic pressing techniques in order to entertain, inform and inspire.

We also produced the videos to raise funds for our fledgling but fast-growing organization. Proceeds from these videos will enable further groundbreaking demonstrations and educational opportunities found no where else in the hobby today.

CONTENT OVERVIEW hm

In February 2014 we recorded a live demonstration (about 2.5 hours) of dry cleaning, humidifying and pressing a VG Giant Size X-Men 1 up 2+ grades. This was done at a SEHGCC meeting with about a dozen folks present, many CGC Board members.

The videos that are now for sale represent the “heart” of the content presented live at the meeting. It has been split into one video per function, with stills, titles and tips added in post production.

Each video contains a walkthrough of cleaning/humidifying/pressing tools, procedures and suggested parameters (temperature, time, etc.) for the steps demonstrated. The videos also contain many details of the equipment, brand names used, and suggestions for improvement along the way. The videos also contain text overlays describing the objectives of each step and helpful tips emphasized at each point in the documentary.

Appreciate the feedback from all those purchased thus far and those considering. We are collecting quotes and will add soon to the initial post.

Here's a quote for you"I am flabbergasted at the thought of someone doing that to my comics". "Please don't ruin your books with these crappy videos".

How much for a list of comics you have pressed and submitted with cert numbers so I never buy a comic from you?

The American dream. Bigger, stronger, faster and never better than someone who isn't out to make a profit but does things because they love to do it.

Flabbergasted by pressing? There's another thread for that. Krapping on something you haven't bothered to try? There's a word for that. *spoon*

I don't have to jump off a cliff to know that it would kill me either,to know that it's wrong. (shrug)
