My guess is the owner of the recently listed KO on Ebay did a little google search on the book and came across this thread, assuming it is not a lurker or registered member of these forums, and went :idea:

 

Makes me wonder if that owner would have even bothered listing it on Ebay. Perhaps it was just a coincidence. (shrug)

 

We will never know.

 

To address your question directly Tony, I will confirm that a friend of mine, who shall remain anonymous, did bid the book up to $1200.00 and was aware of my copy and was apprised of the auction, but the question remains who are the two other bidder who sniped over him? So, would the price realized have been this strong without the benefit of this thread? That depends on whether those two last second bidders were even aware of this thread. All conjecture really ;)

 

Irrespective of the price realized, this book is a wonderful piece of ephemera. Now, lets see how many more copies surface. (thumbs u

Didn't a lot of previously unknown giveaway "educational" ECs surface in the Gaines Estate? There are a lot listed at Halperin's site. I'm guessing "KO Punch" was not among them.

 

Still would like to know the artist. He's good. Not Kamen or one of the EC regulars.

Pretty clearly Feldstein's work, as such he's definitely one of the EC regulars -- probably the first, and "head" regular, as far as that goes. :)
