CONFIRMED: THE FLASH And ARROW To Have A Two Hour Crossover Event This Year

TV Guide have the scoop on when we'll see the first team-up between Green Arrow and The Flash, and it's set to happen much sooner than any of us expected! Though some characters will be seen both of The CW shows, the first major crossover is set to take place during the first half of each of their third and first seasons respectively.

"Episodes 8 of both shows, Arrow and Flash, are going to be a two-hour crossover event," Andrew Kreisberg revealed to the site. "[Also], in Episode 4, Felicity [Emily Bett Rickards] is going to come to The Flash."

As we already know, The Tomorrow People's Robbie Amell is set to play one half of Firestorm, and it was revealed during The Flash's TCA panel that the other half, Martin Stein, will later be introduced after very nearly being included in the pilot episode.

Geoff Johns Says DC Comics Keeping Film And TV Universes Separate

According to a TV Guide tweet, DC Comics Geoff Johns said today at the Television Critics Association’s semi-annual press tour session that DC wants to keep its film and TV universes separate. The reason being is that DC doesn't want TV writers to have to try to fit shows into the movies.

My 3 favorite villains are now in the show apparently- Reverse-Flash, Mirror Master, and Captain Cold. I'm hoping they have a look at least somewhat similar to the classic ones.

Some great news coming out

Has Mirror Master been confirmed for the show?

AS far as today's news, love the Captain Cold casting and had a feeling the Grodd scene was an easter egg they could potentially build on if they wanted but would be hard.

I am bummed however that they are going to keep tv/movies separate. Would love to see Amell on the big screen, and if they make a Flash movie with another actor it might be slightly weird.

Andrew Kreisberg Talks ARROW/THE FLASH Crossover And How JUSTICE LEAGUE Impacts Them

"When Felicity is in Episode 4 of The Flash, it will be Wentworth Miller’s first episode as Captain Cold,"

"And then, both Episode 8 of Arrow and The Flash will be a two-part cross-over. Not to toot our own horns, but I think we’ve designed it in a way that, if you’re not watching The Flash, you can just enjoy it from the Arrow perspective, where these crazy Flash people show up for an episode, and vice versa. We don’t want to be brazen and assume that everybody is watching both shows. Hopefully, they will be. I think it’s one of those things where, if you’re not watching both shows, whichever show you’re watching, it will all make sense to you. But at the same time, if you are watching both shows, you’re really gonna get a fun, cool two-night event."

"There really aren’t that many characters that we’ve asked to use, that we haven’t gotten access to. Fortunately for us, with Arrow, we were able to bring on Deathstroke and The Huntress, and this year we have Katana. It was actually DC comics’ idea for us to use Ray Palmer/The Atom. On The Flash, with Geoff Johns, our partner, we’ve carved out this whole world of characters that we have access to. There are the big ones that fit into the Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman mythos, but since we’re not using those characters, they’re subsidiary characters don’t really feel necessary to us. We never feel like we’re confined. We’re more impressed that we get to play with as many characters as we do. By the end of this season, on both shows, we’ll have Green Arrow, Black Canary, Katana, The Atom, Firestorm and The Flash. If you’ve got Green Arrow and The Flash, why would you want Batman and Superman around? I think we’ve figured out how to do those characters really well. There’s something very distancing about Superman and Batman that I think works so well in the features, but that I’m not sure would necessarily lend themselves to a weekly series. We’re very happy with the characters that we have."

Andrew Kreisberg Teases The Villain Of ARROW Season 3 And Crossing Over With THE FLASH

"It’s really going to be an adventure with the Arrow and Flash on both episodes. Watching the two teams come together and fight alongside each other, it’s one of the most fun parts. We just don’t believe in waiting. We really believe in accelerated storytelling and especially for those first nine episodes of the season—for both shows—hopefully we’ve designed it so that none of these [make you say], ‘Well, I missed that one, it’s fine.’"

'Plastique' Set To Make An Explosive Debut In Season One Of THE FLASH 1220744-plastique.png

"Sgt. Bette Sans Souci – AKA Plastique – will make her way to The Flash this season. The series’ incarnation of the metahuman is a fetching young redhead who was a bomb specialist with the Army before she was injured by an IED in Iraq. Since being exposed to the Central City explosion, she can turn any object into a bomb with just a touch of her hand. Not a bad comrade for The Flash to have on his team, eh?"

On the run from the shadow forces in the U.S. government trying to turn her into a human weapon, she finds an ally in fellow meta-human The Flash."

Season One Of THE FLASH Adds A New Rogue In The Form Of 'Girder'

With Weather Wizard set to appear in the pilot and Wentworth Miller cast as Captain Cold, season one of The Flash is quickly putting together a superpowered rogues gallery for Barry Allen which could soon see the formation of, well, The Rogues! TV Line reports that episode 6 will see the introduction of recurring character, Tony Woodward a.k.a. Girder. In the comics, Woodward is thrown into a vat of molten steel which includes scraps from S.T.A.R. Labs experiments after assaulting a female co-worker. Those scraps convert his body into living iron and imbue him with superhuman strength and a high resistance to harm, though he does rust. However, The CW series describes this version of the character as someone who used to bully young Barry in the schoolyard. Now, as a result of the particle accelerator exploding, Woodward is "a grinning lunkhead who loves destruction," and an "unstoppable force… who can transmute any part of his body into solid steel." Girder was created by Geoff Johns and Ethan Van Sciver, and first appeared in 2001's Flash: Iron Heights series. What do you guys think about this latest addition to the show?
