Is this VG+ 4.5?

This looked a bit overgraded to me. Opinions?

IMO a grade of VG would be more consistant with the defects noted and by the looks of the book....I think the + in his grade was a little bit of optimistic grading....

Yes, I cannot see anything that would take it into the + category. Certainly no more than a straight VG or maybe even a VG- adding the slight spine roll and the partially detached centerfold.

I'd go somewhere between G and VG. I now mentally knock eBay grades down a bit when deciding whether to bid on something and how much to offer. (Note that I like my books raw.)

Also, however it's graded, O-Street says $21 in good. So $17 for this book is probably a fair price.

I've Talked to an overstreet advisor; I won't say who, and he told me that although all the defects in the book are allowed in a VG, the accumulation of these defects could bring the grade down to G. So based on that, I personally feel you're grade of VG is generous. Am I wrong? Are you wrong? Am I right? Are you right? Want to learn something here and right now it's the advisor's word against araich and I don't know which way to go..

Since most bidders probably do this, I think I shall start bumping up my grading by a half grade everytime.

If that book was in my hands, I would not call it anything better than Fair/Good (since this book looks so beat up in the scan, I would probably even qualify my fair/good assessment with an AT BEST).
