Well, here's a new one on me...what would any of you say in reply to this ?

 

I have mixed feelings about Tomb of Dracula CGC 9.6. For a 9.6 which is NM+, the cover isn't very clean.

There seems to be fading on the cover which would never pass as a 9.6.

What was the attached picture?

I would reply with this:

"Please send an email to changethegrade@cgccomics.com which includes the grade you'd like to have assigned to the book.  Be sure to include the certification number (see below) as the email's subject or they won't know which book to assign the new grade.  Once I receive the new label I'll post the pics and send you a message to let you know the new grade has been listed.  Let me know if you have any questions."

If he won it then changed his mind I'd tell him he should have looked closer at the pictures, you didn't grade it CGC did.  Assuming all that stuff is on the actual cover and not the case I would agree it's not a 9.6 though.  Always buy the book, not the grade on the label.

I see what you're saying, but, as I always point out to customers, what you're paying for is CGC's opinion, and, in their opinion, it is a 9.6.

 

What I think is irrelevant...so irrelevant that I don't even bother thinking about it.

I don't care if I have missed a sale or two (and mostly relates to Comics which got sold anyway) - If they haven't paid someone else - there is a high risk that they won't pay you either.
