Another non-paying bidder to block.  Feedback of 18.

I've had more non-paying bidders in the last few months doh!

I hate tire kickers.  If you're not actually planning to buy, why bid?

Good thing I searched this forum...I had a funny feeling when the guy's name was "James Bond". He was very very quick with his counteroffers, finally accepted one....then never paid. Looks like I have to play the 6 day waiting game to relist.

here is the exchange, she wants me to pay for refund but thinks porch pirates took it, tracking says that it was delivered - start reading at the bottom (too much work to reformat)

well I think I will let ebay take it from here. I will be blocking you from further purchases as well though. Take care and be well.

If it was me I would, as its the right thing to do or atleast a partial refund

I get that, but is that a reason to make me pay for the item? It was delivered to your home, I have no more responsibility. You should open a missing package request with the post office but a refund is not appropriate.

Some weird stuff going on here. This is the only CGC book I've sold in a year. Do these people have something against CGC? The winner is the only one of the 3 involved on the list so far. They may all be the same people.

I posted a book to make offers. Got 2 low-ball offers both from Tampa (giants8962 and mamcs-1). I declined both because they were so low it's not even funny. I got a 3rd (Loganx2317-9) where the guy was actively messaging with me and sending offers. He finally accepted one (a good offer) and then nothing for 2 days. I looked into him and searched his name on Google and boom...on the list here. I checked his feedback and many of the positives were NPB. I did some more digging. Says he is from Tampa, but his address is a fake address in Georgia. His name is also listed as James Bond, and a different name as well associated with his fake address. I filed a NPB this morning. He has been actively stringing me along with..."I'll pay tomorrow" and "I'm waiting for funds to transfer". I am going to report the fake name and address. Is anyone else able to as well? Maybe get this guy banned? Loganx2317-9

The question is I have is why me? I haven't had any NPB in a while and mostly sell toys. The only CGC book I put up and I get these 3 guys in minutes. Do they stalk all new CGC listings they are not banned from bidding on? Why? That must take some time.

I am now afraid to list this one book as this person may keep doing the same with other names and I don't want to get screwed over with fake addresses or what not.

I can't speak to your specific time waster but NPBs are so common now that I don't even get upset anymore. I just cancel and relist when it becomes clear the person isn't going to pay. I'm determined to finally make my move away from selling altogether on eBay this year. Between MCS, Shortboxed, consignment dealers, and selling here on the boards, there are many venues to sell slabs now without having to worry about the eBay NPB wasteland.

Do you get a tick if you cancel and the bidder doesn't approve it? I am trying to thin things out so I'm not selling at all except for my purges every year or so. Hope all is well!

why does anyone use feebay at this point? i was gonna paste all the ids from here onto my blocked list in case i want to sell a book, but after reading a few pages of this sh*t, i'm just convinced to sell here only.

Largest audience of customers in the world. The cost is larger amounts of deadbeats too, but that's what this thread is for.

For high-ticket items, no-way feebay, but for run of the mill or "hot picks of the week", feebay works well enough.

These boards have their share of HOS and probation buyers/sellers too.

I wonder what's the % of HOS/probation members to all buyers/sellers here compared to feebay blocked-buyers/sellers listed here compared to all feebay buyer/sellers?

Good here. Hope you've been well :hi:

I don't know when they changed it but ebay now lets you cancel without buyer approval.

This is true. The boards also have A LOT of tire kickers, which I think gets overlooked.

good points there. when i sell books they are not usually under $100 so i always end up trying here first, with good results. i have sold quite a few books here and never had anyone back out of a deal or not pay me. i'd rate selling on the boards very highly. not to mention saving the fees that feebay charges.

i just cannot imagine listing a 2k, 4k, or 8k book there and getting screwed over. i did once sell a $7500 book there and i was very nervous about it. i made a video of the fedex office person packing the book and putting the label on the package. but it worked out fine. i guess a thread like this is obviously going to have only the horror stories rather than all the positive experiences.

Bought an item. Didn't pay. No response. I opened a case, they still didn't pay. I closed the case. Got my fees back. They got a strike. I relisted the item and they immediately made an offer on it again. Shame on me for not blocking them immediately.

What did Forrest Gump say? Oh yeah, "Selling on Feebay is like a box of chocolates. You never know who you're gonna get."

There's always that one that you just want to chuck across the room and then move on to the next.

Hello everyone!

I suggest to block:

aalbert00

The guy is based in Spain, be he also uses a US delivery address, (Shipito).

Sent me an offer of $5250 for Avengers #1 (1963) CGC 5.5

I have accepted it.

He did not pay, claiming that he was not able to checkout with his residential address in Spain; (I use the eBay Global Shipping Program).

After that, he proposed me to send the item via DHL with a false custom declaration of $50.

I wonder why he was able to easily checkout in this way, but unable to pay with the Global Shipping Program, which I am sure to be active and fully functional, because I have sold a couple of slabs this same week toward other European destination.

I started to Block the Bid Retractors as well.

Don't let them off-the0hook - they will PM/email you begging to be removed and will swear on their grandkids graves that they

will pay - they won't.

I had a hard time years ago with "robtothec" he kept buying my IMSMs and would not pay. I gave him

a 2nd chance as he had a surprisingly high eBay Feedback score( slightly higher than mine at that time).

Buys again then starts to return game - not as described. I know he frequents this Forum and if he does not

see this post Stu & others( I know who they are) will contact him and tell him.

So today I have ANOTHER slickster who thinks he is going to out-slick CAL:

"boomverse".

And for you Socialist clowns out there that want your "proof" as CAL's words are no good:
