I haven't updated this is a loong time. I got a head start 2 years ago or so when someone else copied an updated list to the boards, and am just now working my way backwards from the most recent to the beginning adding names.  It probably wasnt me that actually put your name there, I may have copied it out of their posted list.

Hello The last expensive graded comic I got from you was Conan number 2 m, 8.0 graded. Arrived covered in hard plastic grading displayed on the top amazing. I’ve just bought Conan number 3 for £93 and it’s arrived just in a sleeve with no mention of anything. Is the grading just made up or where does it come from? It just seems a bit pot luck as to what I get from you?? Thanks

 

Need I add that the Conan # 3 in question was clearly pictured in it's raw, non slabbed state...?

Great list, thank you! yeagerp1, I remember that dude had overpriced stuff, tons of undisclosed damage.

 

Long story short, add tucson_collectibles to your blocked lists...

 

-- the above someone who paid fine via PayPal (no problem there) but then asked me to send to their Hawaii address as shown in PayPal (it is not, ebay and PayPal both show the one address in AZ, and I could see no HI address of any sort -- ebay probably stripped out whatever address they tried to type.)

When I told them hey I don't know if someone's got access to your account, but I can only send to the listed AZ address, they then threw a fit, called me a liar/scammer/beggar and then said fine, it would get forwarded to their "real address" and they didn't care, but would make a claim and get a refund if it came damaged...

 

So I eased their mind (just hating to think of a damaged book) -- their order was canceled, $ refunded and summarily blocked. Jeez.

eBay initially sided with the buyer and refunded him $4,600. I appealed the decision, filed a police report and uploaded the documentation to eBay. About 48 hours later, I receive an email from eBay letting me know that they have sided with me on the appeal and will not be seeking reimbursement from me for the $4,600 they paid out to the scammer/buyer. The guy still got his money back and gets to keep the book, but at least I'm not out $4,600.

On the topic of the police report - I received a phone call from the New Bedford PD yesterday morning. This situation is developing and I will provide updates when/if there is anything to share.

$4600 may be enough to get their attention especially if other complaints have come in on the guy. Hopefully he is dumb and sells it to a cop.

I'm pretty sure you had mentioned you reported him to Ebay. Did your follow up feedback show up on his feedback history? Unfortunately Ebay requires any buyer to be reported three times before considering a ban
