I was thinking of fixing the mini spine roll on my HOF 8 that I bought at San Diego ComicCon in 1991 then just now I see this cry cry...  Now I know why the staples look so jacked up, live and learn hehe...

A word about these photos. There are supposedly repros of them. I don't know how to exactly tell as I've never seen any. I know mine are original because I got them from the original owner with the rest of his childhood ECs many years ago. In my estimation, they are much tougher to find a complete set than the EC Fan Addict kit.

Not really EC but Alfred E Neuman MAD, here are two super rare pieces of MAD jewelry. The tie bar and cufflinks. There were also a keychain, scatter pin and charm bracelt offered for a short time in 1957 through the magazine. These are the only two pieces from this set I've been lucky enough to find. I only know of one complete set of these. In my opinion, even more rare than the Straight Jacket.

A recent addition to my small collection of ECs and a question for all you EC experts - were they known for being miscut (i.e. not square)? Pardon my poor photo skills but as you can see the comic looks kind of tilted in the slab and it appears as if this is by design (the comic has not shifted). The inner well has been designed at top and bottom almost to allow for the slightly offcut comic. Anyone else encounter ECs like this?

Great book! The slight miscut/tilt you note happens to all the GA publishers, EC included; some issues show it more than others. For example, CSS #20 almost always has a trapezoidal cut, from slight to very noticeable. However, maybe the GFC of CSS #20 don't have it? Never seen one of those. :)
