Got a nice email from the seller with an apology and an offer to make everything right. My apologies to him and everyone here for my rant. I will be leaving nice positive feed back for all 6 books. I still think eBay as a whole stinks though...

Back to your regularly scheduled programming. Somebody please show some nice ECs for us to enjoy.

@Robot Man I was the under bidder on the weird science 15 :baiting: you suck :roflmao:lol

Obviously I am playing around :foryou: Im glad it went to a fellow board!!!!!! Also I felt like your "rant" was justified. Plus you didn't out the seller and you were honest and upfront with us. I got my 2 books from the same seller and I've not had a problem before. Im happy to hear that they are making it right!

Spoiler

( you also could have just sold my that moldy thing to me...it would have fit in nice with all my other horrendous ECs!!)

But It was a EC weekend for me (labor day)!!! I got some killer books.

BUUUUUUT which one do I read first.....

Hard to pick favorites, there are so many b itchen covers.  Here's a few from my musty vault, lol.

Weird Sci 9.jpg

All 3 are stellar fifties. I do have a sentimental favorite though. I got a small pile of ECs from my uncle as a kid. My first real exposure to them. That Crypt #23 was a real stand out and shook me up. Still at the top of the heap for me today!

No comment on which to read first, since I assume you've already read both in the 12 hours since this was posted. (:

Gratz, in particular, in picking up the Shock #1.  I'll have a good Labor Day pickup to show once it arrives, but since I only got the pay from the overtime day I worked on the weekend today it only just got ordered.

Fair enough.  I would start with Two-Fisted, myself.  But I've read a reprint of the Shock, while the Two-Fisted is one of the only four Kurtzman-edited EC's I haven't read in either original or reprint.

Hi gang,

I'm new to the boards but have been an EC and Pre-Code fan for decades.  Back in the 1990s I was the comic book specialist for Green Apple Books, San Francisco's largest and best bookstore, and I did a couple of catalogues for them.  One of my catalogues showcased EC, Mad and Pre-Code Horror.  It was incredibly fun to put together!  Every now and then a copy of the catalogue pops up on eBay.  I wonder if anyone here was a Green Apple comics buyer back then?

There was a ton of fun stuff in the Green Apple catalogue... It's startling to see how cheaply one could buy certain comics back then relative to today's prices!  The best item in the catalogue, in my opinion, was the original front cover to Mad #21, featuring the first cover appearance of Alfred E. Neuman.  I was the former owner of the piece... it's probably the only thing I've ever sold that I feel a bit of remorse about!
