Just completed these two New Direction titles. Just a Psychoanalysis #1 short of having all of them now. (All leads welcome.)

Gratz on completing the runs.  For better or worse, Psychoanalysis #1 does seem to be the trickiest of the New Direction books... I got it fairly late, and I know it was the last one @Raze needed as well.

Re: two fisted tales 26

I finally read it! And it was good, I didn't think Id like any war books but the very few I have read have been great and hard hitting. Kurtzman was a writer that I didn't give much credit too...but now I get it! He's really great!

He really is.  It's unfortunate in some ways that his reputation leans so much towards humor, because his war books for EC are just consistently excellent in a way the Feldstein edited books aren't.  Feldstein was willing to let a book go out with a stinker (with great art) or two go out as long as he had an excellent story or all time classic in the issue as well.  It still put him miles above anybody not at EC, but it explains why Feldstein could do 7 books when Kurtzman struggled with more than two.

@OtherEric I did get my Psycho 1...i though I shared!!! Will do it when I get home.

@AJD congrats!!! And yes that psycho 1 tends to be a little more on the the high side...$40-$60 for a 2.0 sometimes. Never really figured out why that book held such a value(shrug)

I know you got it, but if I recall it was still the last New Direction book you got.

Was going through the EC boxes and ran into these. Haven’t read them since I bought them in 1994. Forgot how good they were. Bill Stout really knocked it out of the park on #2. The second one mentioned 6 issues but I only saw two. Were the other 4 ever published?

Pretty sure it was just the two issues.  Some very good stuff in both issues; but still a bit of a mixed bag.  They're in my EC box, but at the back with the Picture Stories from the Bible collections, not mixed in with the main books.

I used to have over a hundred EC comics. I sold most of them off, keeping only my complete run of Two Fisted Tales and a handful of examples. Now I’m craving more horror!

Robot Man’s ragged readers to the rescue!

I’m taking next week off, and I’ve got 4 new putrid playthings to get me in the Halloween mood! Thanks, Bob!

Those are great. I added them to an MCS order to check them out and they are all you say. I don't think any more were published though, which is a real shame - I assume because HK passed around the time they were published.

BTW Bob, I can't seem to send you a PM - says "robotman is unable to receive messages" ??

So fellow EC Fan Addicts, I was perusing the preview for the next ComicConnect auction in December and it looks like a unicorn will be making an appearance...

https://www.comicconnect.com/bookDetail.php?id=852786

A bit out of my league but I’m sure the bidding will be aggressive.  :gossip:

That should do well. Seems a lit of folks are looking for it and you don’t see it much.

I was going to have mine graded but they refused to list the contents on the label. Since they contain random back issues, contents vary.

I’m lucky enough to have 3 first issues and one 2nd in in mine. I would think it would make a price difference to a future buyer. Since they won’t do it, I’m keeping it raw for now.

Wonder what’s in this issue?
