Talk about odd. Here is a Mexican Vault of Horror #37 edition.

Was that one also published in the 1950s?

Still very cool since it's not a modern reprint.

My newest obsession and focus ... sci-fi EC's ... I suspect the horrors will be following suit shortly :ohnoez:

I think these covers define the sci-fi sensibilities of the 50's so well; missed this book 2 or 3 times in the last couple months here on the boards ... so

Well said, and the exact reason I love this cover so much:

I've sold most of my ECs ( never any Two Fisted Tales, of course), but real collectors must retain a Wally Wood sci-fi cover example!

And did you?  (retain a Wally Wood sci-fi cover example)?  If so... which one?

Choosing just one Wood to save would be too tough a call for me... but it'd probably be either WS 16, or WS 14:

I would definitely vote for 14.  I love Wood, but I think his figures could sometimes look a little stiff.  Almost as if they were drawn separately and then dropped into the background.  I kind of think that's the case here.  I never get that feeling with, say, Kirby -- although you could certainly argue that Wood was the better artist overall.

I do get that feeling with some of his work, too... a really good example is the woman on WS 22... (not my copy):

I also find a lot of his figures a bit stiff (almost out of place), yet he is still one, if not my favorite artist. Great books everyone!

Another ECCC find.  Clearly just a reader, but I'll take it happily:

When choosing my keeper, I really prioritized having one with monsters and a claustrophobic space ship interior!
