Aftershock comics should be on your list of sleepers. Black Eyed Kids #3 shows sales of 3703 copies. This is a very, very, very good book. Once you start reading it, you'll be chomping at the bit to see what happens next. Civil War and Rebirth are not surprisingly, causing some potential hits to be swept under the rug. This book and especially these creators, deserve a shot. ^^

Jupiter's Legacy Volume 2 #1 is another potential sleeper coming in at around 28,000 copies. Great storytelling and unbelievable fine line work. There was a fairly large backlash after initial sales of 105,000 on Volume 1 #1. It seemed crazy to most at first until you take into account there were 4 regular covers plus incentive sketch and other covers. When broken down in equal numbers, there were probably around 25,000 of the Quitely cover which makes that one to watch.

July sales

Batman #2 177K

Batman #3 168K

That would be more impressive if it weren't for the multiple covers. "IF" people are buying one of each cover, which I'd wager happens as often as not, these numbers aren't nearly as great as they'd appear. Do you guys and gals think that people are buying just one cover ?

There were at least 2 covers for 31 of the top 39 noted by Comichron. They missed the variants of Civil War or just decided to not include them. Counting those 2 issues, it would make the count 33 of 39. Kind of crazy to think they could keep these kind of numbers up without killing the bottom 300 to 350 titles sold each month imo.

The drop off is small really. I would have thought more.

I think 2 things are happening here. People gambling on this Batman run because of the secondary values of the New 52 and the variant covers in a market that is currently being driven by them. 2c
