Tom Hiddleston calls Kong: Skull Island a spectacular and epic film

Tom Hiddleston stars in the film and spoke of how excited he is to be sharing a screen with "the biggest movie star in the history of movies" while speaking with Entertainment Weekly.

"Jordan Vogt-Roberts, who directed it, had this extraordinary idea, I don’t want to spoil too much because I kind of want people to see the trailer and go "oh, okay"…but it’s a whole new re-conception of the mythology. It essentially follows a group of disparate travelers and explorers and soldiers who travel to an undiscovered island in the South Pacific. And it’s set in a time period where you could conceive that there are still undiscovered places on the earth. What they find on the island is surprising, and then every character has a very different response to it. It’s going to be spectacular and epic, but also the human drama is kind of interesting as well."

KONG: SKULL ISLAND is set for a March 10, 2017 release.

I remember the first time I saw Kong's rampage through the native's village in this version. It was like, "WOW!"

Kong: Skull Island is set to be released next year, but before the people at Legendary Pictures can release a single frame of the movie, they have to address the 800-pound gorilla in the room.

Artist Joe DeVito claims he created an entire Skull Island universe surrounding King Kong, with the blessing of the original King Kong creator’s family. Now he’s suing the producers at Legendary Pictures. DeVito claims in February 2014, Lorenzo di Bonaventura Television agreed to develop the project but ultimately passed on the project. After searching for other producing partners, DeVito claims that in July 2014 he came to an agreement with Warner Bros to produce the movie. That same summer, Legendary announced its release of a Skull Island motion picture.

DeVito is seeking compensation and credit, seeking at least $3.5 million in general and punitive damages. Legendary declined to comment.

KONG: SKULL ISLAND Director Reveals King Kong's Size

Ever since Godzilla vs Kong was first announced, fans have been wondering just how big the giant ape will be in Legendary and Universal's reboot. In Peter Jackson's King Kong (2005) the beast was measured at 25 feet tall crouching and 50 feet tall standing. That size would hardly prove a challenge for Gareth Edwards Kaiju King, who clocked in at 350 feet tall.

Well, at CineEurope, Jordon Vogt-Roberts revealed that his King Kong will be twice the size of the 2005 version. The mystery now is whether he meant standing on all-fours or on two legs? According to THR, Roberts' exact statement was, "This is going to be the biggest Kong there's ever been. Not 10 foot or 30 foot, but a 100-foot ape."

That's a lot of Kong!

Tom Hiddleston Is Bringing ‘Kong: Skull Island’ to Comic-Con 2016

Because you haven’t had a chance to step foot on Skull Island just yet, Tom Hiddleston is bringing Skull Island to you. The actor will be heading up San Diego Comic-Con next month to promote his monster movie Kong: Skull Island to the masses.

The good news is that director Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer) is in post-production on the film, which means he’ll have a ton of footage to choose from, assuming the studio will be using footage as its centerpiece. This would be a good time to premiere the first trailer, since word of the film’s development was first announced at a previous Comic-Con.
