BOX OFFICE: Will WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES Beat SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING This Weekend?

There's going to be a war at the North American box office this weekend and it's not just the one between humans and apes! War for the Planet of the Apes is released on Friday and it will be going head to head with Spider-Man: Homecoming during its second weekend of release. Right now, it seems the outcome is too close to call but THR believes that the wall-crawler will ultimately come out on top.

It depends on a number of factors, though, because while tracking is pointing to a $55+ million debut for War for the Planet of the Apes, it appears as if Spider-Man: Homecoming is taking aim at $58.5 million assuming it falls by only 50%. If it declines by 55%, the reboot is likely to drop down to #2.

Warner Bros. Has Dated Two More UNTITLED DC FILMS For 2020 - Are CYBORG & GREEN LANTERN CORPS In Jeopardy?

Quote

Warner Bros. has announced two Untitled DC Films for 2020. The first will arrive on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2020, while the second will arrive in the summer on June 5, 2020

No hints were provided on what either film could be, although if we had to wager an educated guess, the first might be The Flash, starring Ezra Miller, while the latter is likely the Wonder Woman sequel, which returns both Patty Jenkins & Gal Gadot, as the date is during the same weekend the film opened this past summer. Also, with San Diego Comic-Con coming up, it wouldn't be a stretch to assume that we'll learn more about at least one of these dates (as well as several others) during WB's eagerly awaited presentation on Saturday.

Other potential options include The Batman, Suicide Squad 2, Shazam, Black Adam, Gotham City Sirens, Nightwing, Batgirl, Justice League Dark, Justice League 2, and/or Man of Steel 2.

There are so many potential opportunities now, it could be any of these. Though you know Wonder Woman 2 now has to be high on the list.

Isn't Black Panther being released next February?

Blame it on the wall-crawler.

Spidey takes Black Panther's release date =>July 28th, 2017 now moves to July 6th, 2018

Then Marvel reshuffled later on.

Black Panther now to be released => July 6th, 2018 now becomes February 16th, 2018

I'll update that with the next bump.
