DC & Marvel movie road ahead - 2015 to 2020

I like this one.

6. It's something regarding Spider-Man

This is a long shot, but a recent report from Hitfix suggests some meetings may be taking place between Sony and Marvel to get Spider-Man to appear in its cinematic universe.

"I'm hearing that there are some very cool "Spider-Man" plans being discussed that would help Sony refocus their enormously important franchise while also opening up some connections in the onscreen Marvel movie universe that would blow fandom's minds."

It's no secret Sony's latest attempt to reboot the Spider-Man franchise hasn't been as successful at theaters as the original trilogy with Tobey Maguire.

That would be absolutely huge news. However, I don't think Sony's ready to give up on Spidey JUST yet.

Kevin Feige Confirms We'll Get A New AVENGERS Roster After AGE OF ULTRON

-----------------

"The Avengers films, ideally, in the grand plan are always big, giant linchpins," the producer and studio boss told the site, adding: "It’s like as it was in publishing, when each of the characters would go on their own adventures and then occasionally team up for a big, 12-issue mega-event. Then they would go back into their own comics, and be changed from whatever that event was. I envision the same thing occurring after this movie, because the [Avengers] roster is altered by the finale of this film."

I'm still pumped for Batman vs Superman. Seeing them fight on the big screen will be insane. Plenty of cool stuff to look forward to though.

  • April 5th, 2019 – Shazaam (starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson)
  • May 3, 2019 - Avengers: Infinity War, Part 2
  • June 14th, 2019 – Justice League, Part Two (directed by Zack Snyder)

These two films are going to destroy all films that year and most likely cause some heart attacks.

Man, looking at that updated list makes me wonder if there'll be an inadvertent impact to actual comic books.

I know as DC continually reconned and rebooted I slowly turned to their excellent Animated Universe for my DC fix. Even now that's the main universe I have in my head for DC, the who's who. The DCAU is just cleaner, clearer and much more enjoyable.

So as those Cinema Universes solidify and expand it may get tougher to resist getting the 'comic book' fix from movies and the occasional TPB.

(there'll always be hardcore collectors and book flipping wealth-builders, I'm mainly wondering about lifelong fans.)
