I'm not sure where this one belongs, but it seemed that those who follow this thread might be able to help me. I have a copy of Green Lantern 46 (2nd print) that is a direct edition, with a UPC sticker over the UPC box. Are these common?

First of all, let me say that is really cool that you found a Green Lantern 2nd printing with newsstand sticker.  To me, the sticker looks like the ones that were placed on some of the Death of Superman runs by the original printer.  @RockMyAmadeus might have an interest in seeing this.  Below is a thread he started about 2nd print newsstands.

I just read through this entire thread while 'working from home' and really enjoyed it.  Thanks for posting that here!  I have been a newsstand naysayer for the most part but that thread AND this GL 46 may have just caused me to start down a whole new rabbit hole.

Be careful of that newsstand rabbit hole.  It is a really long hole to chase down... lol.

p.s.  I think that the Death and Reign of Superman series had an insatiable demand at the time it came out (I recall the buzz quite well).  So when newsstand issues ran short, I think someone (maybe the printing company) just go a hold of direct sales issues, slapped the sticker on, and got them out to the newsstands.  There are several examples (Superman 74 2nd print, Superman 75, Superman 75 2nd print, Superman 75 4th print, Superman 80 are the ones myself and @onlyweaknesskryptonite found, plus the GL 46 2nd print found by Brock above).

An all new scavenger hunt is always fun. Whether it's Newsstand 2nd prints, Mark Jeweler's,  Reader Surveys ( some found in Death of Superman) ,  Cover Price Variants     ( 15 cents/ 35cents / 3.99 / Canadian)  , Foreign Editions,  Error ( Issues with Issues) [Double Covers, Siamese Wraps or Covers, Missing Months,  Color Or Strike , etc] and of course  DC Universe Logo Variants ! The hunt is on ! tenor.gif.7dc77d14635c12db886436201d67b60e.gif

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, "A sticker is a sticker is a sticker . . . " Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

I'm not sure where I got this thing, but it seems to be a proof for a cover for the DC Universe variant of Superman 74.  I just noticed the codes at the bottom, and wondering if this might lend some clue as to how these multi-pack variants were numbered.  I wish someone at DC would have kept track of these things, then we would know exactly which DC Universe variants were printed but still not found.  But I'm pretty sure those records don't exist.  I also find it hard to believe that these were made approximately 25 years ago.

yes, but it is only a single page, with a copy of the intended "Brain Transplant" back cover advertisement glued onto the back of what you see in the image above.  I'm not sure what this is.

I agree with Revat Wowsers. Haha.. Really it is amazing.  I have had a few of these in the past( NOT DC Universe Logo) but they were all printers proofs. As you said they tend to add things such as ads with tape or glue. Some also have writing about changes for color, logo, price , etc. It truly is a piece of history as most of these end up destroyed. It has the extra amazing history as it has the notation of being meant for Multipack ! Definitely  have to say I am jealous of this one. Congratulations!

For whatever it is worth, the DC Universe label on this printer's proof is not glued on.  It was printed out with the rest of the cover.

I was recently lucky enough to buy this beautiful copy of Batman 9 and I sent a picture of it to a few dear friends.

Then one of those dear friends sent me an email with this image and reminded me that my collection would not be complete until I got the DC Universe variant of that comic book.

For some reason he likes photo-shopping the DC Universe symbol onto images of random comic books and other stuff.  Too dang funny, he is.

I was referring to you mentioning the intended back cover ad being glued, which was common for the printer proofs as they were working out layout and finalizing for print. Looking at the cover it looks good and do not see any real changes from the finished distributed copy so this was probably pretty close to the final print mock up.  Definitely an amazing piece of history to own. I too hoped the numbers would help , but without knowing the layout codes we can only speculate.  I checked with all of the packs I have and potential ones this could reside, unfortunately no upc or box numbers match any displayed at the bottom of the page. Although since this made me look I did notice that there were two variations of the death doomsday single set pack that had different 75 prints , but the same box upc. The Dual pack has a completely different upc( which was to be expected) as well as the 2 pack. 20200729_005728.thumb.jpg.1c0949060a2921001189d4f4c209cc7f.jpg20200729_005742.thumb.jpg.a71bb5ba905042d455cdd01eba702b14.jpg20200729_005806.thumb.jpg.ffb724849bf763b29871bc11e182abb5.jpg20200729_005817.thumb.jpg.5110aea096276a91f132bcf2ba7f89ad.jpg20200729_010111.jpg.a6d3c300e626c783669bac152df9c3db.jpg20200729_010135.jpg.341e2b986ff801b132c5be9f243b8098.jpg20200729_010341.jpg.a51b45f609b74b40977988fc35ed9a19.jpg

Great observations.  I would think that trying to chase down all pack variations would drive one a little batty.

Haha.. Rabbit Hole.. besides I am not after all of them across the board, mainly just Superman ( although I do just keep picking them up when I find them).  Which still is a TON of them. Here are some more packs that have some superman DC Universe in them..20180402_014625.thumb.jpg.2dd8bcaacd4adfa8b9795ad4ac8340a0.jpg20180402_014634.thumb.jpg.7b80d61ada6079054c3600238814753b.jpg20180402_014657.thumb.jpg.ce7679e9bd5e7ddbaa2a77fc2db2a25b.jpg20180402_014706.thumb.jpg.71109f1d8c59a8010d22e63a1842b2ef.jpg

and then these which it has been a while since I have done another group shot ( will have to dig these all out at some point and update, sort, and get new pictures ) I know I have added a LOT more. 20191002_005648.thumb.jpg.ac44a7fd7d62b7695d4c41d1f8d28c40.jpg20190605_020314.thumb.jpg.eb7ca5def5cc18f41d0bcf6f163fe5e6.jpg20190605_003537.thumb.jpg.82bd2933b2cf8c2f708b908e7d1f8b7d.jpg20190605_003353.thumb.jpg.68c4153e86400126c718769f2a9ef764.jpg20200729_085336.thumb.jpg.d5e16687e5e235894c99f1e86c368971.jpg
