I think Jerome has almost 90% of dcu's, so hopefully he can help you out on some the ones you're iffy on. I have a few resources too but I have to get on a special computer and potentially contact an outside expert. It's a thing. But worth doing I think, haven't done it in awhile

 

In my mind, Jerome rules when it comes to DC variants. Since Jerome doesn't have the ones I've listed and I have not been able to find them after years of searching, it makes me doubt their existence. That's why I'd love to see someone come up with a scan of DCU variants for Adv of Superman 530, Action 706, Superman MOS 42 & 49, and Superman 95 & 117

 

For whatever it is worth, I have 7 that Jerome doesn't have. Namely, Detective 680 & 682 with orange/red cover & 685, Superman 96 and 106, Adv of Superman 499 & 524. So between you, Jerome and myself, there are very few suspected DCU variants that we don't have already in hand.

 

uh oh, looks like I'll have to tap my secret source....hopefully he has some of the tough ones, that I can buy and resell to you guys at mad profits. Don't worry, he's anti CGC so he won't see this....

 

On an unrelated note, if anyone has an extra Azrael 22, Robin 25, or Green Lantern 49 DCU UPC F/VF and up, I could be in the market for those.

Here is an attempt to list the questionable "DC Universe" items.

 

I started with the list of items I am missing. From that, I removed:

 

1) the Items Captain Kirk has;

2) items with pictures in this thread;

3) an item that I was outbid on when it was on e-bay; and

4) a couple of items that are in another collection.

 

This leaves a total of 15 items that I believe are currently questionable:

I recently asked my Batman guy about these, he asked his Superman guy, and confirmed the existence. I've directed both of them to this thread. hopefully they post, though they are currently not boardies and the batman guy is averse to CGC. if they do not, then next week i'll see if pictures are available.

Revat/Jerome -- great job on nailing these down. Here's what I can add:

 

1. I thought Jerome had Power of Shazam 17 and Looney Tunes 7. That's why they were on my list. If Jerome doesn't have them, then I have no other evidence that they exist.

 

2. I've checked my other sources for the 15 comic books that Jerome lists above as questionable, and none of those sources were able to turn up evidence that any of those 15 DC Universe variants exist.

 

For the record, I have about 300 different versions of the DC Variants. I know Jerome has close to 500 (he's not missing very many at all). So the list of "known" DC Universe variants is very reliable. In other words, if Jerome says it exists, then you can be sure it exists.

Impulse 10, Steel 23, Superboy 24 - I think I added these of my own accord after seeing them out and about on the web. Obviously I can't remember where/how I saw them, but I don't think I would have added them willy nilly (what would the benefit be?). I'm gonna hunt for confirmation on those (hunt the web, and ask about the last two from the superman guy).

 

The others are more 'truly' questionable and are legendary myths wrapped in enigmatic riddles.

Don't know if this is good news or bad news... but I found the pic of Superboy 24. I think its going to be hard to find the other Superman, Adventures, and Actions, so we'll give it some more time then remove them if no one seriously believes they exist. I just got them from an existing list, so I have no direct knowledge.

When I first started reading this thread, about an hour ago, I felt knowledgable and ready to contribute. Unfortunately, the last few updates have covered everything I had to offer. Now, I am just happy to be in the presence of like-minded collectors who know what a DC Universe logo is.

 

I am interested in seeing if any of you guys want to do some trades. I have only about 400 of the 500 issues listed, so I have a lot of holes to fill. I also have several hundred duplicates, so Maybe we can work something out. I see reference to PM'ing and the WTB boards. I am going to go get some more education now.
