20th Century Fox Developing A Live-Action X-MEN Television Series

--------------------

Bleeding Cool were the first to break the news that Supergirl was being brought to the small screen, and while they got the showrunner wrong, it wasn't long until it was confirmed that the series was heading to CBS. This time they claim to have heard that a live-action X-Men series is also in development, something which makes perfect sense for Fox when they have a very successful TV network (which is currently airing Gotham).

:gossip: Marvel did the whole live action X-Men thing already... It bombed. It was called Mutant X and was part of the reason Fox sued Marvel.

5 years previous they tried it with Generation X. It was awesome

Remember that X-Men TV show conversation?

CONFIRMED: Fox Moving Ahead With A Live-Action X-MEN TV Series

-----------------------

The Hollywood Reporter have revealed that Fox are indeed moving ahead with a live-action X-Men TV series from 24 producers Evan Katz and Manny Coto and original Star Trek 3 writers Patrick McKay and JD Payne. The foursome will share a "Created By" credit, while Katz and Coto will serve as showrunners. Though 20th Century Fox own the film rights, the site adds that "sources indicate a deal is far from complete with Marvel — which owns the comic rights — still having to sign off on the deal."

I personally have never been able to get into superhero tv shows. They seem so boring compared to the movies, and comics. Maybe an X-Men tv show will be cool though.

I also remember being super stoked for Generation X, and distinctively remember the great disappointment that followed.

Although I do enjoy a few CB TV shows, I do agree there are a few that miss the mark. I'm sure it can at least meet the high standards as Marvel's Power Pack.

I think I read about Ray Palmer splitting off from Arrow for an Atom tv show... more speculation at this point.

"We are in very early talks on a very general, very general idea that we haven't dug deeper on yet, and we're not allowed to say anything about it yet. That's all I can say," Greg Berlanti said, with Marc Guggenheim adding that right now, they are just trying to get the Atom suit finished.
