Matt Ryan's John Constantine Confirmed For LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Season 3 Appearance

It's now been confirmed that Matt Ryan will reprise the role in Legends of Tomorrow season three. That's been rumored for a while but is now 100% official.

Showrunner Phil Klemmer made that clear in a recent interview while he was listing some of the adventures we can expect the group of time traveling heroes to go on during the third season.

"We get Billy Zane and the circus [in the second episode]; we get a little Julius Caesar on the beach in Aruba in the premiere," he told Rotten Tomatoes. "We meet [new team member] Zari in this sort of dystopian future. We get to do a little Amblin alien episode back in the ’80s; we do some Jack the Ripper Victorian London; Golden Age of Hollywood; John Constantine doing an exorcism."

Last night's episode was a great way to kick off the third season. But I hate to hear this rumor.

Report: Victor Garber to Leave 'Legends of Tomorrow'

The Legends of Tomorrow will get a little bit smaller in Season Three as one of the series regulars will soon be leaving the cast.

Victor Garber, who plays Dr. Martin Stein in the time-traveling DC Comics-based series, will be exiting the show sometime this year, according to a report by Deadline. Warner Bros. TV and The CW didn’t provide a comment on the departure.

Garber has been a staple in The CW’s superhero shows ever since he debuted as one-half of Firestorm in The Flash, alongside Robbie Amell’s Ronnie Raymond. He has since appeared as part of the main cast of Legends of Tomorrow, using his Firestorm powers alongside Jax Jackson played by Franz Drameh.

Good episode last night. The crew running into P.T. Barnum, who attempts to make them into his new circus attractions, was more fun than flop.

Barnum coming up with the 'Man of Steel' term was a tiny bit cheesy. Along with Victor Garber dropping the line, "Whoever built that Titanic ship should be shot." Which he starred in alongside Billy Zane.

Mick Rory's fear of clowns yet having to save people from the circus made for some funny scenes. And the Time Bureau sure can interfere to the point of making a situation worse - not better.

The woman appearing in the end from water is Kuasa, which was a villain from the Vixen animated series. So another crossover between the series. But what her goals are still to be revealed.

Marc Guggenheim, Matt Ryan Tease a Smoking John Constantine on 'Legends of Tomorrow'

In a pair of Twitter posts, Marc Guggenheim and former Constantine set designer Dave Blass have implied that Matt Ryan's John Constantine will smoke when he returns to the Arrowverse in a January episode of DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

After tweeting out the -script cover for "Daddy Darhkest," the tenth episode of Legends of Tomorrow's third season, Guggenheim "corrected" himself by re-publishing the page with John Constantine's red tie and cigarette superimposed over it, indicating that production had started on the first of Ryan's two Constantine episodes. One fan posted what appears to be an Instagram story post from someone on set, showing Caity Lotz and Matt Ryan sitting together in wardrobe, with a caption suggesting that the characters were doing a Tarot reading. Ryan retweeted the Guggenheim tweet, along with a second tweet from Blass, which showed a pack of cigarettes and a lighter.

These might seem somewhat innocuous, but in reality they add up to something: it seems John Constantine will be smoking on Legends of Tomorrow.

Matt Ryan Shares Constantine On 'Legends Of Tomorrow' Teaser

John Constantine is returning to the Arrowverse, and actor Matt Ryan has released a new tease to get fans hyped.

Ryan will be reprising his fan-favorite role in an upcoming two-episode arc of DC's Legends of Tomorrow, and the actor shared a shadowy glimpse of his character. The photo shows Ryan's shadow (with trademark trenchcoat) against a dilapidated wall, and while it doesn't' reveal much, it does coincide with his arc's overall tone.

"His appearance in episode 310 will involve the following: a revisiting of Arrow season four and the events following that season’s finale episode; a confrontation with this season’s Big Bad on Legends — the name we’ve only heard whispered until now Mallus; some hot sex — something that has been in short supply on the Waverider thus far in season three; and Damien Darhk (Neil McDonough), because how can you do an episode about dark magic and not have Damien Darhk? More than anything, the episode promises to be scary as you know what — tonally it’s The Exorcist meets One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest. Demonic possession in a mental institution, what’s not to love?"

:whee:

Matt Ryan's John Constantine will be making a return to the Arrowverse in a two-part storyline of Legends of Tomorrow season 4, and fans have been buzzing like crazy about it!

The Ryan and the Legends producers have also been fueling fan excitement by dropping some big teases about Constantine's next live-action appearance. We recently got wind (pun) that Constantine will be smoking when visits Legends, while Matt Ryan already dropped a fun teaser about his return to the DC TV Universe. Today we have even more fun Constantine teases from the cast and crew of Legends of Tomorrow.

This teaser from Constantine actor Matt Ryan suggests that his episode of Legends is going to be very much in the vein of Fox's upcoming New Mutants movie: super powers in a dark crazy house. Sounds good to us.

Good episode, though I wasn't expecting the return of the villain that appeared near the end.

Also, good cross-over with other show characters without ramming it down the viewer's throat. Poor Rip Hunter.

Finally caught up.

The freaky Friday situation made it fun. And although I was no fan of Damian Dark, even he is on just enough to keep it entertaining.

Themyscira was cool. Gives a tease of bigger things going on.
