Looks great.  I may pick this one up.  Is there anything from TOD #49?

Definitely not a complete story.  There could be a random page or two, but I'd have to look at my copy to make sure (and I'm out of town for a few days).  Best, Lee

That's a nice page, however I just got my Dracula edition the other day and I'm keeping it for my birthday hey if you can't treat yourself who can. My very first post on this site was to ask Scott for this very edition now if only he can deliver on my other grail I would be happy...The Ditko Spider-man, go on you know you want too, watch my eyes not around my eyes just stare straight into them now repeat after me "I MUST comply!"

While I would like to own almost every Artist/Artifact/Gallery Edition, I decided I'm going to limit myself to just the Frank Miller books:

  • Ronin
  • Sin City
  • Daredevil
  • Dark Knight Returns

So far I have Ronin and the signed Sin City.

Sin City is much larger, and doesn't fit on my shelf, but both are beautiful presentations.

It's amazing how much detail Miller used to put into his art, and how meticulous he was. I've been one of the guys defending his new "style", but looking at these books makes me really yearn for the old Miller.

Here are a few pics from the Ronin Edition, which has some excellent effects with Vellum layovers, and a wonderful fold out (shown below).

It makes it much harder to defend this:

I have all of the above, but have never seen the Sin City book.  What stories are presented?  Love that stuff.  And yeah, that last Electra piece you posted is pretty rough.  I've seen some other recent Miller pieces that are much better though.

It's all from The Hard Goodbye, but it's not every page from every issue. Quite a few extras too (DHP covers, pencils, etc.).

As I mentioned, it's larger than the Gallery Editions. Here's a side by side:IMG_3623.thumb.jpg.d89a5205c73161ef22c32c7bf4cdd083.jpg

The paper is thicker too, almost like the real thing.

Here are some interior shots:

Truly amazing work.

I'm really glad to hear that! I actually didn't mind the Master Race stuff, and was one of the guys defending it on here lol

Those sketches are pretty brutal though.

I'm really interested to see how Xerxes comes out. The single image I saw looked like the MR stuff - really simple and exaggerated, but clean, with most of the depth coming from the digital looking color work.

I thought I'd be able to pass on the Sin City book (Sin City in Black-and-white? Uh, I think I've seen that before) but I too am a sucker for all things Miller. The day it shipped I couldn't leave my LCS without taking one home with me.

Turns out it's amazing.

The printer did a great job in particular in depicting all of the areas he handled with white-out. Corrections of course, but also the rain, gun blast effects, wrinkles....

Posted this in the other AE thread a while back...this is an excellent write-up on SIN CITY:

I'm convinced.  Gotta get this.  Looks killer.

Ugh.  Storage is a major problem for these.  My bookshelves are buckling.  I've got over 25 of them including the twice up/oversized versions, and I think I'm going to have to sell the half dozen or so that no longer fits the category of keepers.

This may not be the best thread to post this, but didn't think this warranted a new thread and the ones who read this thread will be the ones who would be most interested.
