If anybody has this person's official review I'd love to see it. Not saying they are right or wrong (it is an opinion after all) but it obviously is an outlier. https://rogersmovienation.com/2018/12/09/movie-review-spider-man-into-the-spiderverse/

ChrisInBaltimore 13,221 posts Posted December 15, 2018 Loved the movie! It did a great job capturing the essence of Spider-Man while not having Peter as the main character-although he was pretty important. I also loved all the little Easter eggs. Every time someone scrolled a phone I laughed because you’d see creators’ names. I’d honestly say it was one of the best, if not the best, Spider-Man movies I’ve seen. 2 ComicConnoisseur and mrlatko reacted to this

I enjoyed Homecoming, but I always felt it lacked the depth of Spidey. It was Iron Man 2.0 or something. There was no responsibility. This movie captured it so well. My entire family loved it too. My wife really enjoyed Homecoming, but she loved this. My son wants to go see it again tomorrow and I think we might. He’s never asked to see a movie twice in the theater before. 2 ComicConnoisseur and Point Five reacted to this

Quite honestly, this felt like a fresher Spidey story than I've ever seen onscreen. Miles is a great character, and watching him struggle with his powers and shortcomings was much more relatable than watching Peter Parker knock Flash Thompson around for the hundredth time or whatever. (Which is a bit strange to admit, as I grew up on the PP version of Spidey.) My 7-year-old (Caucasian) son loved Miles to death, and actually wore a hoodie jacket to bed tonight in solidarity. So friggin' cute. On a different note, the animated version of New York City shown in this movie 'felt' more like real NYC to me than the movies they actually filmed here. 1 1 1950's war comics and ChrisInBaltimore reacted to this

mrlatko 3,026 posts Posted December 16, 2018 Just got back from seeing it. Thought it was nearly perfect. Brilliant, beautiful animation throughout. This thing was visually amazing. Great story, action and humor. I lost myself in it, as if I was a kid again. Bendis and the entire creative staff got this movie right. 4 stars without a doubt. 1 ComicConnoisseur reacted to this
ChrisInBaltimore 13,221 posts Posted December 16, 2018 Second viewing: Best Spider-Man movie ever made. It just does so much so well. The style is incredible too. As it’s starting today, my son turns and wants to know when it comes out on video so we can watch it even more. 1 ComicConnoisseur reacted to this

fmaz 5,677 posts Posted December 16, 2018 My college-age son and I both walked out and said it might easily be our favorite Spider-Man movie. Wife loved it too. After seeing it, it kind of clarified things a bit. Made me realize that (despite whatever grumblings and nitpicks people may have) the MCU movies have been a 10-year long gift to those of us who love these characters, and have grown up with them. The chance to see them realized on the big screen in this long, connected epic has been a once-in-a-lifetime joy. Those movies have been made by people who LOVE THESE CHARACTERS, and it shows. But Into the Spider-Verse? THIS movie is a gift to those of us who love COMICS. It may seem like a subtle difference but it's not. Watching MCU movies is all about "Yeah, they really did a great job TRANSLATING Iron Man for movies"... and all that. This is a comic book come to life in every good way imaginable. I think it still works as a great movie (as witnessed by the fact that it's getting such great reviews and all that) but at it's heart, I feel like this movie was made by, and for, people who LOVE COMICS. 6 mrlatko, ComicConnoisseur, Chuck Gower and 3 others reacted to this
