Provocative Cover By Adams

 

Picked this one up recently on Comiclink. A cool, sexy cover by Neal Adams on this obscure title. Just how obscure? Well, the registry does not even allocate points to these books. I think this was a stab at adult themed stories outside the jurisdiction of the comics code authority, like the Warren magazines. Enjoy.

With Neal Adams and Jim Starlin both attending Baltimore Comic Con next month, this would SO be on my "have-to-get-double-signed" list!!

This title is pretty well known in underground comix circles though we generally do not consider it 'underground' per se. Kennedy's 1982 guide lists this title in the back in his "groundlevel” section of the book- Kennedy #183 (pg. 267), not quite underground, not quite above ground, ala Cerebus or Elfquest.

 

20k copies, a variety of contributors (Adams, Giordano, Starlin, Vosburg, Marrs, & Warwick), first printing in September 1975 (Kennedy says actually 1/76 when it hit).
