DCBS sending Book of Death #1 with each shipment?

Am I the only one that has gotten a Book of Death #1 from DCBS the last two weeks when I didn't order it? They were both just out, not bagged and boarded like books I actually ordered.

Didn't get one but I only get my orders 1 time per month. So I won't get my shipment for another few weeks.

I haven't opened my latest shipment, but considering that the issue is fully returnable, maybe Valiant is offering the credit either way, if DCBS ships the book to customers rather than return it, and considering it good advertising. Or DCBS is doing that with overstock on its own, and trying to encourage more Valiant sales.

I would guess they're trying to encourage more Valiant sales.

 

Book of Death #1 is a high-quality book (art, story, materials, etc.) and had a nice discount for retailers to encourage large orders.

It also has a few incentive variants, so it's likely DCBS is already "even" on the cost of Book of Death #1.

 

If you can get more customers for future orders for zero cost today, why not?
