I showed up yesterday pretty excited, but walking around Artist Alley, where I usually spend most of my NYCC time, it dawned on me that lots comic artist I dig and would look for at the show are dead...

It's still pretty cool there. Friday's relatively chill, not too many costumed folks and one can actually walk around at close to a natural pace in places.

Great NYCC photos by all...makes me now consider passing up on SDCC and planning annual trips to NY for this con! Does it get as busy as SDCC? If not, what's the fraction?

Supposedly (from the people I've spoken to it's BS) NYCC outdraws SDCC because NYCC has 150,000-160,000 and SDCC caps at 130,000.

Either way, it's huge. It gets crazy crowded...I'm not sure how having more people crammed in there would be a good thing. If it's a few thousand short of SDCC, that sounds like good news to me.
