Hardest to find classic pre-code crime or horror cover?

202 posts in this topic

I would say all three of these are tough for it took quite a few years to put them together. The Punches are from 1944 and 45 with the Dynamic coming in at 1944 so

i would say they are pretty early precode if not the first to appear on stands.

I had to be patient for these. Maybe not rare but not exactly growing on trees either?

I think these Atlas books are probably in the same boat as Blue Bolt #105. Collectors don't like kicking them out of their collections to often.

That menace 5 is a beauty. I would agree it is one you don't see come up for sale often and never in grade.

I like that BB very much, but I like zombies and pretty girls more.

One of my top five all time favorites. Elias at his best (and he did a bunch of great covers).

My copy

The famed "Zombie Kiss" cover! :cloud9:

This book should have broken out by now! :sumo:

I remember buying a copy of that book way back because of that great cover - never thought it would appreciate the way it has, although I'm not that surprised...

Warren Kremer designed all of the late Harvey horror covers and drew all of the ones not signed by Elias.
